Many Flops Later, He Is Still Big

Mani Ratnam, at one time, the time was synonymous with interesting commercial films which were different from mainstream but made money on par with films from the commercial genre. But like all talented people, his popularity and his talent peaked and Mani Ratnam ended up giving more flops than hits.
His last film Kadali was a test to the patience even his die-hard fans. In fact, Guru did well and got critical acclaim, but the south audiences could not relate to it due to the film’s storyline. So, techinically speaking his last hit was Sakhi. To cut a long story short, Mani is now back with his latest film OK Kanmani.
The Tamil and Malayalam bilingual’s trailer has already generated enough curiosity among his fans and film audiences. Closer home, hero Nani has dubbed for hero Dulquer Salmaan and he says he is very proud of his achievement.
Similarly, Dil Raju who is releasing the film in Telugu has also been going ga ga about the film. Given that so many people in three major south Indian languages have pinned their hopes on the film, we hope it becomes a hit and Mani Ratnam retains his past glory.
