Telangana Minister Konda Surekha’s controversial remarks against actors Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, and Samantha have now taken a legal turn. Following her statements, Nagarjuna filed a ₹100-crore defamation case, and on Thursday, both Nagarjuna and his son Naga Chaitanya appeared before the Nampally Court to record their statements.

Speaking to the media after the hearing, Nagarjuna clarified that he was present in connection with the defamation case filed against Konda Surekha, and confirmed that the legal proceedings are currently underway.

The controversy erupted earlier when Surekha accused BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) of alleged involvement in drug-related activities, dragging his name into personal controversies. She went further, linking him to the divorce of Chaitanya and Samantha, while also making derogatory remarks about the Akkineni family.

Surekha even alleged that several actresses in the Telugu film industry had their careers cut short due to KTR’s influence. These statements sparked widespread backlash.

Now, with Nagarjuna’s defamation case formally accepted by the court, a criminal case has also been registered, signaling that the issue is set for a prolonged legal battle.
