Previously, it has been proved that Jagan is the favorite of Majlis chief Asaduddin Owaisi. We have seen how he campaigned on behalf of Jagan before the 2019 AP Assembly elections.
At that time, none of the Muslims campaigned for the TDP but MIM leaders campaigned for YSRCP.
In fact, MIM has been competing only where Muslims are predominant. The Majlis, which has such close ties with Jagan, is now contesting the corporation elections in Vijayawada West.
The party has fielded candidates in Divisions 50 and 54 where Muslim voters are in the majority.
However, it seems like, since SC, ST, and Muslim minorities are the main vote bank for the YCP, Jagan has strategized to introduce MIM candidates into the fray to have a split in the votes.
