After Raja Saab Setback, Prabhas Locks Spirit Release Date

The underwhelming performance of The Raja Saab has come as a setback for Prabhas and his massive fan base. Expectations were sky-high, with many anticipating that the star would register a hat-trick of pan-Indian blockbusters following the extraordinary success of Salaar and Kalki 2898 AD, which together amassed nearly ₹1,800 crore worldwide. However, The Raja Saab is expected to conclude its theatrical run below the ₹200 crore mark, making it a significant commercial disappointment.
Prabhas appears to have acknowledged the miscalculation and moved swiftly to reinvigorate fan enthusiasm. He officially announced the release date of his next major project, Spirit, signaling a renewed focus on strong, content-driven cinema. While Fauji is also currently under production, excitement among fans is noticeably higher for Spirit, largely due to director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s formidable pan-Indian appeal—widely regarded as second only to SS Rajamouli in the current cinematic landscape.
The actor has now confirmed that Spirit will hit screens on March 5, 2027, locking in the release date well in advance and underlining the project’s scale and ambition.
As for Fauji, sources indicate that director Hanu Raghavapudi is aiming to wrap up filming by March or April this year. The makers are reportedly targeting an Independence Day release, a fitting choice given the film’s backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle and its alternative historical narrative.
