
Teja Sajja and director Karthik Ghattamaneni’s magnum opus Mirai is shaping up to be a larger-than-life spectacle. From its teaser to the trailer, every glimpse has raised expectations sky-high. Backed by producer TG Vishwa Prasad, the film has been mounted on a grand scale without the slightest compromise.
Vishwa Prasad clarifies that Mirai was not designed with market strategies in mind. “Our aim was to deliver a path-breaking cinematic experience. When we began this project, HanuMan hadn’t even been released—we simply believed in the vision. The film has nearly 10 massive episodes, a gripping story, stunning visuals, powerful music, exotic locations, and next-level VFX.”
The producer recalls how Karthik’s narration instantly won him over: “Ashoka inscribed all knowledge in nine books, entrusting eight to warriors and one to an ashram. The mystery of these books and the epic clash between hero and villain built around them is truly fascinating.”
At its emotional core, Mirai highlights a mother’s unbreakable resolve. “That strength is beautifully captured on screen and gives the story its heart,” says Vishwa Prasad.
The team also took a bold decision to handle VFX in-house. “Outsourcing often leads to compromises. By doing it ourselves, we had complete creative control over the visuals,” he explains.
Revealing the film’s toughest challenge, he adds: “There’s a highly complex sequence involving a bird named Sampati. After Raaja Saab, the Mirai set for this sequence was the second largest, spread across 30,000 square feet. We built the set from scratch and used animatronics to bring Sampati to life. I don’t think Indian cinema has ever attempted such an extensive human-bird interaction before.”
Finally, Vishwa Prasad teases one of the most anticipated moments: “Lord Rama’s presence in the film will be a powerful highlight and an unforgettable big-screen experience.”
