The first MLA IAS couple of Kerala tied knot in a lowkey wedding ceremony held at a temple in Thuckalay, Kanyakumari.
KS Sabarinath, a Congress MLA, got married to Divya S Iyer, sub- collector of Thiruvananthapuram, in a hush hush ceremony attended only by close ones. Senior Congress leader and former chief minister Oommen Chandy and other leaders including Anto Anthony, KC Joseph also attended the wedding.
The newly weds, who spilled the beans about their relationship in May, are planning a reception party at Girideepam convention hall in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.
Sabarinath, an MBA grad, was working with TATA trust before joining politics. Demise of his father, G Karthikeyan, a Congress leader and former speaker, made Sabarinath step into politics.
Divya, a graduate in medicine, cleared IAS in 2013.
