Another controversy hovering over the extemporaneous visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Pakistan was kicked-off by Shripal Sabnis, a well-known academician.
While addressing the students present at annual Marathi Sahitya Sammelan which was organized in a college at Pimpri-Chinchwad, Sabnis, who was elected as president of the conclave, said that PM Modi could have been shot dead in Lahore.
The remarks, which added political colours to literary conclave that is expected to be held in coming week, did enough to temper the BJP. BJP spokesperson Madhav Bhandari, “Sabnis should restrict his comments to literature alone. However, the man speaks more on Narendraji than literary issues.”
