During the Amaravati inaugural ceremony on Vijaya Dasami last year, Telangana CM KCR was undoubtedly the surprise attraction. Even though the event was graced by the PM Modi and several national and international VIPs, KCR stole the show and his speech even got the loudest cheer from the crowds.
However, the Telangana CM disappointed everyone who expected that he will announce sops for the construction of the new capital and his neighboring state by limiting his speech to just extending his best wishes. Today, KCR, in his press meet, revealed the reason why he didn’t announce any special fund to Amaravati.
KCR said that he was prepared to announce a special fund towards Amaravati construction during his speech, but restrained himself from doing so as the prime minister Modi himself didn’t announce anything for Amaravati, except donating soil and water.
KCR further said that he didn’t make the announcement anymore since he didn’t want to upset Modi and in a way Modi’s silence stopped KCR announcing package. KCR also said that both Chandrababu and AP’s financial minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu were aware of his special funds announcement plans.
Well, while KCR’s revelations did amuse a few, many opine that KCR is trying to appease the Seemandhra voters in Hyderabad with his sweet talk in the wake of the upcoming GHMC elections.
