
Bollywood and Telugu cinema mourn the loss of actor Mukul Dev, who passed away recently at the age of 54. Known for his memorable portrayal of the character Jakka in Ravi Teja’s Krishna, Mukul Dev left a lasting impact on audiences with his powerful performances, especially in negative roles across Telugu films.
Mukul Dev’s portrayal in Krishna was a significant breakthrough in his career, leading to a series of offers in Telugu cinema. He went on to deliver notable performances in films such as Ek Niranjan, Siddham, Kedi, Adhurs, Bejawada, Money Money More Money, Nippu, and Bhai. After Bhai, Mukul shifted his focus primarily to Hindi cinema and other languages, becoming an established actor beyond the Telugu film industry. His most recent appearance was in the Hindi film Anth: The End (2022).
Mukul Dev was the elder brother of actor Rahul Dev, famous for his role in Athadu. The two shared a strong bond, both having made significant contributions to Indian cinema.
In recent times, Mukul Dev had been battling health issues and was undergoing treatment. His passing is a great loss to the film fraternity. Reports also indicate that following the demise of his parents, Mukul Dev had been deeply affected and withdrawn from public life for an extended period.
He is survived by his brother Rahul Dev and will be remembered for his versatile acting and the strong characters he brought to life on screen.
