
Ever since Kalki 2898 AD stormed past the ₹1000 crore mark at the box office, fans have been eagerly asking one question: When is Kalki Part 2 coming? Whether it’s public events or private appearances, director Nag Ashwin continues to face the same curiosity—and this time was no different.
During a recent special screening of his cult classic Yevade Subramanyam, Nag Ashwin, along with producer Priyanka Dutt and their family, visited the sacred Tirumala temple and took part in the early morning Suprabhata Seva. As they exited the temple, fans quickly gathered to greet him and click selfies, leading to yet another round of questions about Kalki 2.
In a brief media interaction outside the temple, Nag Ashwin finally offered an update. He shared his happiness at having the opportunity for darshan after a long time and mentioned that he had prayed for the well-being of the entire Telugu film industry. On the much-awaited sequel, he said the script work for Kalki 2 is currently in progress and confirmed that the film will take time to develop. If everything aligns, the team is aiming to kick off production by the end of this year.
In addition to his cinematic achievements, Nag Ashwin has also been in the news for his active role in protecting the green spaces of Hyderabad Central University, where he voiced his concerns about alleged land encroachment. His support for environmental causes has resonated strongly with many, proving that he’s a filmmaker with both vision and conscience.
With anticipation sky-high for Kalki 2, fans can now breathe a little easier knowing that the wheels are officially in motion.
