Following big production studio UTV, corporate giant in film industry, Reliance too entered Tollywood some time back. Sans some occasional goose bumps, this big investor is facing tough time here. Do they need any saviour to lift them into high profits zone? Yes, they do.
The debacle of Manchu Vishnu’s ‘Saleem’ has made Reliance Entertainment sit idle for many years in Telugu circuits. Though the company is performing well in Bollywood and Kollywood circles, they are yet to taste profits, or say hits, in their Telugu ventures. After Saleem, Reliance recently invested a lot in Sahasam and the picture bought them breakeven but there is no question of profits. King Nagarjuna’s Bhai happens to be the upcoming venture of Reliance, where the company invested huge. Only if the flick turns out a blockbuster, Reliance could recover all their past investments, say cine analysts.
Coming to Bollywood circuits, Reliance Entertainment is expecting to shatter records through Ram Charan’s debut movie ‘Zanjeer’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s mass extravaganza ‘Besharam’. But in Tollywood, only Nag is their saviour.
