Naga Babu’s daughter, Niharika, tied the knot with Chaitanya Jonnalagadda in 2020, but the couple decided to part ways in 2023 due to irreconcilable differences. In a recent interview, Naga Babu opened up about Niharika’s divorce and his outlook as a father.
“Niharika and I often talk about everything,” he shared. “I never interfere in my children’s careers. Whether their movies succeed or fail doesn’t matter to me — their happiness is my priority. What’s the point of having crores if they aren’t truly happy? When Varun told me he wanted to marry Lavanya Tripathi, my first question was, ‘Will you be happy with her?’ Once he assured me, I approved their marriage. Today, they’re happy together.”
He then spoke candidly about Niharika’s failed marriage. “In Niharika’s case, my judgment was wrong. That marriage was a mistake — we weren’t able to read the situation properly. But I never forced her into it. When the proposal came, she agreed, and we thought it would work out. They weren’t in sync and decided to part ways mutually. I supported their decision. They weren’t happy, and I never pushed them to stay together. Right now, Niharika is busy producing films, and who knows — maybe one day she’ll choose to marry again.”
