In Tollywood, big-star films failing at the box office is far from unusual. This year alone, Ram Charan’s Game Changer and Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu turned out to be major disappointments.
Usually, when such high-profile films flop, the lead actors and directors face the brunt of online criticism, while producers and distributors remain largely shielded. However, War 2 has bucked this trend.
Producer Naga Vamsi, who secured the Telugu distribution rights for NTR’s Bollywood debut, has now become the primary target of social media trolling. At the film’s pre-release event, he had boldly stated that if the movie didn’t become a blockbuster, people were welcome to “scold him as much as they want.” Unfortunately, his candid remarks seem to have backfired.
Adding fuel to the fire, his recent interviews and statements—seen by many as self-promotion rather than grounded reality—have intensified the mockery. Memes, sarcastic posts, and abusive comments have since flooded social media.
Once regarded as one of Tollywood’s most promising young producers, Naga Vamsi now finds himself at the center of a storm of criticism, proving just how unpredictable audience reactions can be.
