Sekhar Kammula’s much-awaited film Kuberaa, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna, is all set to hit the screens tomorrow, riding on a wave of high expectations and strong pre-release buzz. Promotions have been in full swing, and adding to the momentum, Nagarjuna recently spoke to the media, offering insights into his role and the film’s vision.
Nagarjuna revealed that he instantly connected with the script when Sekhar Kammula narrated it to him. “I didn’t ask for a single change to suit my image,” he said, drawing parallels with classics like Mayabazaar and Gundamma Katha, stating that altering such stories would ruin their soul — and Kuberaa is no different.
The actor shared that his role as a CBI officer in the film is one of the most layered characters he has played in recent times. “While most characters in the film fall clearly on either side of good or bad, mine has multiple shades. It’s an author-backed role, and Sekhar has presented me in a completely new light,” Nagarjuna said. He also appreciated how Kammula blended social realism with entertainment to create a compelling narrative.
Known for embracing multi-starrers, Nagarjuna reiterated that he’s always open to them, provided his role is strong and meaningful. He praised Kammula’s ambitious yet grounded approach and lauded the director’s clarity and conviction in handling such a massive project.
Produced by Asian Suniel Narang and Pushkar Rammohan Rao, Kuberaa is reportedly one of Sekhar Kammula’s biggest ventures to date. Nagarjuna commended the producers for giving the filmmaker everything he needed to bring his vision to life on a grand scale.
