It is nothing short of a war between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with the police personnel of both sides coming to blows at Nagarjunasagar. Called in to prevent the fight between officials at the dam getting out of hand, the police personnel rather joined the fray in support of their respective States.
While Telangana claims that AP has more than used its share of water and refused to release any further water to the right canal, putting in immediate danger 1.49 lakh acres of paddy and 5 lakh acres of other crops.
With even the police of both sides coming to blows and resorting to slogans of ‘Telangana police go back and AP police go back’, one can understand how volatile the situation is. And yet, the egomaniacal KCR choose to remain silent and have statements issued through his crony, Harish Rao.
It was AP CM Chandrababu who acted responsibly by taking the initiative and calling up KCR. Finally, the latter agreed to meet Naidu at Raj Bhavan to sort out the issue today. AP people have lost enough thanks to Telangana and its politics.
We cannot afford to lose anymore. Should KCR refuse to come to a sensible understanding then Naidu should use the entire force at his disposal to do away with the Telangana menace once and for all in each and every aspect. Every citizen of Andhra Pradesh will stand behind Naidu for this purpose.
