The latest deadline of December 6 fixed by Kapu leader and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham for the Chandrababu Naidu government to announce the reservations for Kapus is fast approaching.
But so far, there has not been any movement in the government with regard to Kapu reservations so far. And Naidu has completely ignored Mudragada and left it to the police to handle the Kapu leader, if he resorts to any agitation or rally.
On Thursday, Mudragada dashed off yet another letter to the chief minister reminding that the latter had promised during the Kakinada municipal corporation elections that he would implement the Kapu reservations issue at the earliest.
“Our community is eagerly waiting to hear the decision on December 6, the death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar,” he said.
The Kapu leader said as the deadline was approaching, Naidu is provoking his party leaders to speak against reservation to Kapus.
The TDP leaders saying BCs will be affected if Kapus are given reservation is a lame excuse.
“We never demanded a chunk out of the quota of the BCs, which would give rise to clashes between the two communities,” Mudragada said adding that a separate quota should be created for Kapus and that too we are demanding only for the economically backward people in our community.
He also demanded a categorisation of Balija, Ontari, Telaga and Kapu.
