The Nandyala public meeting by YSRCP has turned out to be a blot for Opposition and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The hatred, caste-based and religion-based speeches of Shilpa brothers and YS Jagan’s hate speech against CM Chandrababu Naidu have sent wrong signals to the people of Nandyala and this may have drastic affect on the prospects of YSRCP in the upcoming by-election and expected to incur a heavy damage to the Opposition party.
While Shilpa Mohan Reddy’s brother Shilpa Chakrapani Reddy had went onto make comments that voters should take Rs 5000 per vote from Chandrababu, TDP and asked them to vote for YSRCP in the by-elections. If this is not enough, Chakrapani has raked the issue of castes such as Vysyas and religion such as Muslims by openly saying that they would vote for YSRCP but not for TDP.
Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy went onto the extent of saying that CM Chandrababu Naidu should be shot in public. Now, all these comments of YSRCP leaders are expected to backfire. Political analysts say that these remarks have dented the image of YSRCP.
Even before the meeting, the wave of YSRCP is visible in Nandyala. Shilpa Chakrapani did have an advantage until before this meeting. However, the single meeting has changed the whole scenario in Nandyala. YSRCP has courted a ‘self-goal’ in Nandyala and one need to wait and watch for its final implications.
The popular adage in politics says – ‘There are no killings in politics. There exist only suicides’. Looks like, YSRCP has attempted a ‘political suicide’ in Nandyala ahead of the by-polls.
