Just a couple of days ahead of Nannaku Prematho’s release, a large group of Muslims carried out a huge protest rally against NTR and his Sankranthi release Nannaku Prematho, demanding strict action against the film’s unit and removal of a scene for hurting their religious sentiments through a poster.
Witnessing the fury, the Nannaku Prematho makers immediately tendered an apology and announced that they have withdrawn the controversial poster and also removed the shots from the film. The controversy ended for good and the film released without any jitters.
But the latest show cause notice issued by the Minority Commission to NTR, Rakul, Sukumar, BVSN Prasad and his son Baapi asking them to appear before the commission before the 18th only shows that the controversy is still on. The Commission also warned the film’s team of criminal cases if they fail to attend the hearing.
The controversy kicked off when the Nannaku Prematho’s team released a poster in which NTR and Rakul are seen dancing with Islamic scriptures shown in the background. The protestors filed a police complaint against the film’s unit and even appealed to the censor board to remove the objectionable content in the film.
