Heritage Foods Executive Director Nara Brahmani, wife of Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, has put an end to speculation about her political entry. Speaking at the Business Today – Most Powerful Women in Business awards in Mumbai, she stated unequivocally that she has no interest in politics, emphasising that her current work offers far greater purpose.
Calling Heritage Foods “my organisation, my first child,” Brahmani said the platform enables her to make a direct and meaningful impact—something she values more than any public role. A Stanford MBA graduate, she highlighted that her work empowers lakhs of women farmers and benefits crores of consumers across India, aligning perfectly with her passion for health and nutrition.
Heritage Foods currently operates in 19 states, sourcing milk from 7–8 states, with women constituting nearly 80% of its producer base—a statistic she considers central to her leadership mission. The company reported a turnover of ₹4,134.6 crore in the 2024–25 financial year.
Reflecting on her journey, Brahmani recalled stepping into the dairy business founded three decades ago by her father-in-law, former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. As the company grew into a listed entity with thin margins and a vast supply chain, she led a strategic shift towards value-added products, which now contribute 32% of total revenues, with plans to scale this vertical further.
She credited her mother-in-law Nara Bhuvaneswari for nurturing an inclusive work culture that made her transition smoother, and described Chandrababu Naidu as her most influential mentor. The family council meetings, she noted, function with the discipline and vision of a professional board.
Despite her family’s deep political background, Brahmani reiterated that her focus will continue to remain on business leadership, innovation, and social impact, firmly ruling out any move into politics.
