In Andhra Pradesh, IT Minister Nara Lokesh has made headlines with a people-friendly initiative this festive season. Worship organizers had requested government support for free electricity to power Vinayaka pandals during the celebrations.
Responding positively, Lokesh announced via social media that the government has approved free electricity supply for Vinayaka pandals, with official orders soon to be issued. The initiative will also extend to Durga pandals during the upcoming Dasara Sharannavaratri festivities. The coalition government has allocated Rs. 25 crores for this purpose.
While seemingly a small gesture, such proactive measures showcase a leader’s vision and connect with the people. With this move, Lokesh is reinforcing his image as a leader who genuinely cares for citizens and community celebrations.
