Recently, Nara Lokesh shared a heartfelt picture of himself and his son, Devaansh, praying on Ugadi Day. Behind them, in the pooja room, a small doll caught public attention.
The YSR Congress social media team quickly picked up the image, suggesting that the doll resembled something used for black magic and questioned why it was displayed in a pooja room.
Responding to the claims, Lokesh took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify:
“For those curious about the dolls in the puja room… It’s a Lord Shiva doll and a little Shivling handmade by Devaansh when he was just 4. He’s a tiny Shiva Bhakt in the making. We kept it in the Puja room as a memory! Some understand faith. Some don’t. But devotion like this needs no explanation. #HarHarMahadev”
He also shared close-up pictures of the cute Shiva doll and mini Shivling, which are now going viral across social media.
Political circles in Andhra Pradesh are witnessing intense debates around Hindutva, and this incident has sparked discussions. While the YSR Congress team attempted to target Lokesh, it instead allowed him to showcase the family’s devotion, including his young son’s spiritual inclination.
TDP supporters criticized the Congress for overreaching into personal spaces, calling it a political blunder. They highlighted that mistaking a child’s handmade Shiva doll for a black magic object reflects poorly on the party’s social media strategy and could have political repercussions.
This episode underscores how seemingly minor incidents can gain major attention in today’s politicized social media landscape.
