Andhra Pradesh IT and Industries Minister Nara Lokesh has returned to the United States on an official tour aimed at attracting fresh investment projects to the state. As part of his visit, Lokesh interacted with the NRI wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), where he shared an interesting and heartwarming incident that took place upon his arrival at Dallas airport.
Recounting the experience, Lokesh revealed that airport authorities initially restricted his exit through the usual arrival route after noticing an unexpectedly large crowd gathered to welcome him. “The officials informed me that over 100 people were waiting at the gate to receive me, which is quite unusual. They expressed concerns about law and order and requested me to exit through a different route,” he said. Lokesh added that the massive turnout reflected the affection and support shown by the Telugu diaspora.
This US tour is expected to be a brief but strategic one, with a strong focus on securing new investment opportunities for Andhra Pradesh. Lokesh has lined up multiple meetings with business leaders, global company representatives, and potential investors.
During his previous US visit, Lokesh successfully held high-level discussions with tech giants such as Google and Infosys, which later translated into tangible benefits for the state. With similar expectations riding on his current trip, there is significant anticipation surrounding the outcomes of his meetings this time as well.
