Nayanthara Breaks Silence on Promotions Again

Noted actress Nayanthara is widely known for her strict “no promotion” policy, often making it clear to producers that she avoids interviews and pre-release promotional events. However, this long-standing stance has recently come under discussion after her latest public appearance.

For a change, Nayanthara attended the pre-release event of Love Insurance Kompany, directed by her husband Vignesh Shivan and slated for release on April 10. Her unexpected presence on stage surprised both the audience and the film team. Videos of Nayanthara warmly hugging Vignesh Shivan quickly went viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions.

While a section of viewers appreciated the candid and personal moment, others criticized her for skipping promotions of her own films but actively participating in her husband’s project. Some netizens even felt the appearance was staged as part of a calculated promotional strategy. On the other hand, her supporters defended her, pointing out that she is also a co-producer of the film and therefore has every right to promote it. They also emphasized that promotional participation remains a personal choice.

Interestingly, Nayanthara recently made her return to Telugu cinema with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, alongside Chiranjeevi. However, she stayed away from pre-release events, consistent with her long-standing policy. She did, though, appear in a promotional video directed by Anil Ravipudi, which itself generated significant buzz online.

A producer commenting on the issue noted that while her selective participation sparks debate, it is not unusual in today’s film industry. He added that when a star maintains a strict public stance but makes exceptions in certain cases, it naturally leads to discussion and criticism.
