Actor Unni Mukundan, widely recognized by Telugu audiences for his roles in Bhaagamathie, Janatha Garage, and most recently, the action-thriller Marco, has always maintained a unique approach to his on-screen performances. The actor recently reaffirmed his commitment to a self-imposed “no-kissing, no-intimate scene” rule, emphasizing that this is a principle he strictly follows in all his films, regardless of the circumstances.

As he gears up for the release of his upcoming film Get-Set-Baby, where he plays Dr. Arjun, a gynecologist specializing in IVF, Unni opened up about his acting choices in a recent interview with OnManorama. He revealed that for the past seven years, from Meppadiyan to Marco, he has consciously avoided playing a romantic lead, admitting that it was a challenge and could even be considered a limitation in his acting career.

Despite facing pressure from filmmakers to perform intimate scenes, Unni has consistently stood his ground. He believes in portraying romance differently, suggesting alternative ways to depict love on screen without physical intimacy.

“It’s the same approach used in action scenes—though it appears as if you’re hitting someone, you never actually make contact. The same logic can be applied to romantic films,” he explained.

Unni Mukundan remains committed to making films that cater to all kinds of audiences, ensuring that his work remains widely accessible while staying true to his personal beliefs.
