Kathmandu, Nepal – The Government of Nepal has officially declared April 6 as a public holiday in celebration of Ramnavami. The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting held on Monday and was announced by Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, who also serves as the official spokesperson for the government.
Key Cabinet Decisions
Beyond the declaration of the public holiday, the Cabinet meeting also approved the submission of the government’s annual report for the fiscal year 2023-2024 to the President. This action aligns with the provisions outlined in Article 53 of the Constitution of Nepal and Section 41 of the Good Governance (Management and Operation) Act.
Additionally, the meeting resulted in the formation of a negotiation team tasked with seeking grants for school sector reform programs under the World Bank. The team will be led by a joint secretary from the Ministry of Finance, emphasizing the government’s commitment to educational development and international collaboration.
In further administrative appointments, the Cabinet appointed Naresh Raj Aryal as a member of the Debt Recovery Tribunal. Additionally, Dinesh Prasad Bhatta has been designated as the Chief Executive of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, reinforcing the government’s focus on financial governance and disaster risk management.
These decisions reflect Nepal’s ongoing efforts in governance, economic reform, and disaster preparedness, showcasing a proactive approach toward national development and administrative efficiency.
