With the shifting of employees from Hyderabad to Vijayawada picked up a decent pace, the functioning of the Andhra Pradesh government from the new state capital Amaravati has accelerated. More than 15 departments started functioning on Monday alone as the ministers of the concerned departments are busy opening the offices shifted to Amaravati and surrounding areas.
Officials of the Panchayat Raj, social welfare, RTC, Municipal Administration and Irrigation Department have joined their duties in the new offices.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had already set July deadline for the shifting of all offices located in Hyderabad to the new capital. Already, around 20 offices have been shifted to AP in the recent months.
