Telugu star Nikhil Siddhartha has voiced his concern over the exorbitant prices of snacks and beverages being sold in theatres. Expressing the frustration shared by many moviegoers, Nikhil took to social media platform X to highlight the issue. He stated, “High ticket rates should be capped, but the bigger problem is the insane pricing of popcorn and cool drinks. I recently watched a film in theatres and ended up spending more on snacks than on the movie ticket itself. I urge the distribution circles to address this so that more audiences feel encouraged to experience films on the big screen. At the very least, audiences should be allowed to carry their own water bottles into theatres.”
On the professional front, Nikhil is gearing up for his next major release, Swayambhu, directed by Bharat Krishnamachari. The highly anticipated period drama features Nikhil alongside actresses Samyuktha and Nabha Natesh in lead roles.
Sources from the production team reveal that filming has been completed and a teaser showcasing the grandeur of the project is in the works. The film is slated for release in October this year and is already generating significant excitement among fans, industry watchers, and film enthusiasts.
Presented by Tagore Madhu, Swayambhu is a large-scale historical action epic. A recently released poster features Nikhil in a fierce battle scene wielding a sword, with Samyuktha by his side, equipped with a bow and arrow. Notably, the poster also depicts the Sengol, a symbolic staff representing power and righteous governance — a nod to the legend of Lord Rama receiving the Sengol as a mark of just leadership.
The film boasts a stellar technical crew including music by Ravi Basrur, cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar, and editing by Tammiraju. Action sequences have been choreographed by King Solomon and Stunt Silva, with production design handled by M Prabhaharan and Ravindra. Swayambhu is poised to be one of the most awaited releases of the year.
