After delivering a major disaster with Thammudu, actor Nithiin is currently going through a dull phase in his career. Post the success of A..Aa, none of his recent films, barring Bheeshma, managed to make a mark at the box office. Films like Check, Rang De, Maestro, Macherla Niyojakavargam, Extra Ordinary Man, and Robinhood all failed to impress.
Even collaborations with reputed directors haven’t helped Nithiin bounce back. However, the actor now has two crucial projects in the pipeline that could potentially revive his career. One of them is titled Ellamma, directed by Balagam fame Venu Yeldandi, and the other is a film with Vikram K. Kumar, who earlier delivered a blockbuster with Nithiin in the form of Ishq.
Following the failure of Thammudu, buzz is that Ellamma might be put on the back burner, with the Vikram K. Kumar project likely to go on floors next. Given the success of Ishq, expectations are naturally high for this reunion. This upcoming film is said to be a sports drama, with Nithiin portraying a horse rider in a never-before-seen avatar.
Adding to the excitement, the film is reportedly being made on a massive budget — the biggest in Nithiin’s career so far. Despite a string of flops, the producers seem confident about the story and are not compromising on the scale or quality. The film’s shoot is expected to begin soon, with a 2026 theatrical release being targeted. Interestingly, the makers are also considering “Swaari” as the film’s title, and an official announcement is likely to be made shortly.
