Nitya Menon has gained recognition as a talented actress who keeps away from glamour and glitz on the screen. She has proved an asset for certain films, so much that it was difficult to imagine anybody else for such roles.In commercially successful films like Ishq, and Malli Malli Idi Raani Roju, she excelled in the heroine roles, which were no less important than that of heroes.
Thus, Nitya gained an image in the industry, with a talk that she does not do ordinary films and would take only those assignments that have a lot of scope for her performance.But these days, her journey seems to have taken a detour, as she has started ignoring her image. Initially, she stayed away from films of big heroes, as they were only hero-dominated films.
Now, Nitya is doing a series of big-hero films. Though she said she was not suited for mass-masala movies and glam roles, she is not hesitant to play the second-heroine roles in such films.At present, all the films that Nitya is doing belong to this category, including 24 which is ready for release; another film in Kannada with Sudeep as hero, a Tamil film starring Vikram; Janata Garage starring NTR and another Nandamuri Balakrishna film.
In all these films, Nitya is playing the role of a second heroine. Moreover, her roles do not have any scope for performance.In the past, too, Nitya acted as a third heroine in “Son of Satya Murthy” made by Trivikram. It had absolutely no chance to showcase her talent. When heroine herself does not have any scope for acting in big hero films, what can Nitya too as second and third heroine?
