AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a heated encounter with the YSRCP during the question hour in assembly sessions yesterday said that there won’t be any police cases if normal citizens thrash up the culprits in sand mafia. Babu said that sand mafia is one menace which should be uprooted in its early stages.
Stating that the AP government is the first in the country to give free sand, Babu said that those who resort to extorting money for sand or illegally export sand must be punished severely. Babu further said that people should use the free sand judiciously only as per their requirements.
In the wake of complaints and allegations of Rs. 2000 crore worth sand scam against the TDP leaders, Babu said that strict measures including PD act will be implemented against those who face corruption charges.
Babu further said that his government has finalized 491 authorized sand shores where commoners can pay the minimum labor charges and take free sand and that fraudsters will be put behind bars and their vehicles will be seized if found exporting the sand illegally.
