Till then, not many people were aware about her background. Now, people have started wondering about who this Kiran Rao is. Well, she has her roots in Telangana. She is a Telugu Velama (to which Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao belongs) belonging to Mahbubnagar district. She is the heir of the Wanaparthi dynasty and is granddaughter of Raja Rameswara Rao of Wanaparthy who had run the parallel Hindu government against the then Nizam rule.
The erstwhile King of Raju Rajeswara Rao’s son Rao had done his engineering graduation in those days and he worked in various places like Bangalore, Kolkata and Mumbai. Accordingly, Kiran studied at various places. She had school education at Loreto House in Kolkata, degree at Sofia College in Mumbai and mass communication in the Jamia Milia Islamia University in Delhi. Later, she had been attracted to the film industry and joined as assistant director with Ashuthosh Gowarikar and worked as assistant director for Aamir khan’s film Lagaan. Later, Aamir Khan married to Kiran in 2002 after divorcing his first wife. She born in 1973 in Bangalore and her parents are living in Bangalore now.
