Majlis-e-It tehadul Muslimeen (MIM) president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Thursday adapted to ‘Gandhigiri’ to protest refusal of approving to lecture a public meeting in Bengaluru.
Owaisi requested additional police commissioner, Bengaluru, Noorullah Shareef to take flowers much to the amusement of witnesses as he came to his office at Darussalaam to provide the notice barring his entry into Bengaluru from February 19-25.
The notice quoted court cases against Owaisi and the matter of his speeches to bar his entry in the run up to the Bengaluru civic polls for which the MIM plans to file its candidates.
The officer appeared puzzled at the uncommon gesture and frequently told he cannot take the flowers as a government servant. “I am offering you flowers.I am not garlanding you, “said Owaisi. When Shareef refused, Owaisi asked him to give the flowers to his superiors on whose orders the notice was being provided.
