Tharun Bhascker, who is all set to direct the sequel to his blockbuster Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, is now coming to the big screen as a lead actor in his new film Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi. Directed by debutant A. R. Sajeev, the film co-stars Eesha Rebba and is produced by S Originals and Movie Verse Studios. The makers unveiled the teaser today.
The film is set in a rural backdrop and follows the story of Ambati Omkar Naidu, a wealthy and self-absorbed fish trader. His marriage to Kondaveeti Prashanti, a dignified and patient woman, becomes the emotional core of the narrative. Their relationship—rooted in ego, endurance, and subtle conflict—forms a blend of humor and heartfelt drama.
Tharun Bhascker seems perfectly cast, bringing attitude and natural ease to the situational comedy. Eesha Rebba embodies her role with calm strength, adding balance to the film’s tone. Director A. R. Sajeev makes a promising impression with his clean handling of humor.
Cinematographer Deepak Yeragara beautifully captures the scenic countryside, while Jay Krish’s lively background score adds to the film’s rustic charm. The teaser, sprinkled with hilarious moments—including a comedic IPL discussion—hints at a fun-filled entertainer with authentic village flavor.
With strong production values and vibrant storytelling, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi aims to offer a cheerful start to the new year when it hits the screens on January 23rd, perfectly timed for the Republic Day weekend.
