While beginning his address, Lokesh strongly reaffirmed Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership by raising the slogan, “Chandrababu gaari nayakathvam,” followed by “Jai NTR.” Energised by the atmosphere, a party supporter suddenly shouted, “Lokesh anna nayakathvam,” seemingly reflecting the growing perception of a leadership transition in Lokesh’s favour.
Lokesh, however, was quick to shut down the slogan. He immediately corrected the supporter, making his stance crystal clear.
“There is only one leadership here, and that is Chandrababu garu’s leadership. He is the commander-in-chief, and we are all his soldiers. There is no other leadership here,” Lokesh asserted firmly.
Lightening the moment, he added with a smile, “Looks like you want to get me removed from my position first,” drawing laughter from the gathering. The exchange struck a chord, blending discipline with humour.
This episode carries strong political implications. At a time when speculation is rife about Lokesh being fast-tracked to the Chief Minister’s post, his reaction sends out a clear message. Lokesh appears fully aware of the narrative around him but is consciously reinforcing that Chandrababu Naidu remains the undisputed leader of the party and the government, with no ambiguity or parallel leadership.
