OnePlus is set to launch its next-generation R-series smartphone, the OnePlus 15R, in India on December 17, 2025. As the launch draws closer, the company has begun officially teasing key features of the device, with the latest reveal highlighting its massive battery capacity—the largest ever for a OnePlus phone outside China.
Through a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, OnePlus confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus 15R will be powered by a 7,400mAh battery. The company captioned the post, “The only thing that’ll run low is your worry,” emphasising the device’s long-lasting performance. Notably, the battery capacity even surpasses that of the flagship OnePlus 15. The smartphone is also confirmed to support 80W SuperVOOC fast wired charging.
Previously released teasers have revealed that the OnePlus 15R will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, offering flagship-level performance. For gaming enthusiasts, the phone will feature a dedicated G2 Wi-Fi chip and a touch response enhancement chip for smoother, faster gameplay. OnePlus has also confirmed always-on 120FPS gaming support for popular titles such as Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).
In addition, the smartphone will sport a 165Hz high-refresh-rate display, further strengthening its gaming and multimedia credentials.
On the design front, the OnePlus 15R will feature a significant visual overhaul, closely resembling the flagship OnePlus 15. However, it sets itself apart with enhanced durability, boasting multiple protection ratings including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, ensuring superior resistance against dust and water.
With several major specifications already confirmed, the remaining details—such as camera configuration, pricing, and availability—are expected to be officially revealed at the December 17 launch event.
