Out Of Power, But TDP Bickering Continues In Anantapur

Though out of power, the TDP leaders are still engaged in group politics and internal bickering. They are still indulging in the game of one against the other and are trying to rundown one another. This problem is most rampant in Anantapur and all efforts by both Chandrababu and Lokesh Nara have come to a naught.

In at least three assembly constituencies, the infighting is rampant. These constituencies are – Kalyanadurg, Anantapur and Singanamala. In Kalyanadurg, the party is divided into two rival groups – one led by Unnam Hanumantharaya Chowdary and the other by Uma Maheshwara Rao. Both the groups are opposing one another and are responsible for the defeat of the party in Kalyandurg.

In Singanamala, the party has two warring groups. One group is led by former MLA Yamini Bala and the ther by Bandaru Sravani. Yamini Bala is the daughter of former TDP leader Samanthaka Mani. Now that Samanthaka Mani has joined the YSRCP, Yamini Bala’s clout has come down considerably. But, of late, Sravani has quarrels with another leader MS Raju. Due to this the party is getting considerably weakened.

In Anantapur, there is a fight between JC Diwakar Reddy and Prabhakar Chowdary. Prabhakar Chowdary is a long-time TDP loyalist, while JC family has joined the TDP only recently. Chowdary is opposing JC Diwakar Reddy’s son Pavan Kumar Reddy, who is holding meetings of party workers without the involvement of the other faction.

Though Nara Lokesh himself visited Anantapur to iron out the differences, the two rival factions are continuing to snipe at each other at every available opportunity. This has become a real headache for the TDP leadership.
