Jagan visits cracker blast site, meets injured labourers
Rajahmundry: YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday visited the village in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district where fire at a firecracker-making unit recently claimed 17 lives. Reddy visited the accident site in Vakathippa village of the district’s Uppada Kothapalli mandal and also enquired about the health of the injured persons who are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kakinada.
He met the family members of those who died in the blaze and assured them all help. East Godavari District Collector Neetu Prasad on Wednesday handed over cheques of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the deceased persons. However, Jagan said the compensation was inadequate and the kin of the deceased labourers should be given at least Rs five lakh each.
Seventeen persons, including 14 women, had died of burn injuries in the mishap. Three others were undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kakinada, while one person was missing from the site, Prasad had said on Tuesday.
She had earlier ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident. A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and negligence under relevant sections of IPC besides under Explosives Act has been registered against K Apparao and Satya Varaprasad, the unit owners, police said. The private cracker unit is located at Vakathippa village under Uppada Kothapalli mandal near the district headquarters town of Kakinada, about 500 kms from Hyderabad.
Ram Charan Plans Long Vacation
Mega Power Star Ram Charan planned a long vacation along with his wife Upasana. Charan has been working without any rest and the actor thought of taking 2 months vacation.
Charan is supposed to start Srinu Vaitla’s film after Govindudu Andarivadele but the director is not yet ready with the script. On the other hand, Charan okayed Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat’s script, but the director for this film is not finalised. Speculations were made that ‘Loukyam’ fame Srivas might direct this film, but the Charan’s PR team denied the news.
So, Charan doesn’t have any shootings atleast for a month of two. His recent release ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ collected 40 crores at the box-office but the distributors have lost close to 30 percent of their investments. So, Charan decided to take it easy and plan his next film carefully in between this gap.

Pawan turns director for Gabbar Singh-2 ?
Well, surprised! Yes, it seems Power Star Pawan Kalyan is going to dazzle as a director after the disastrous Jhonny in Tollywood. It seems he is going to involve himself with Sampath Nandi and writer Sridhar Seepana (Loukhyam fame). Don’t you feel wow? As we all know Pawan Kalyan has bowled many hearts by his acting skills, his human nature and now even with direction skills. His craze is proudly called as Pawanism and he now proudly presents himself as a director too.
Fans says “It would be rocking entertainer and Pawan would be prove himself as a perfect commercial filmmaker with Gabbar singh 2 and silence his detractors”. According to sources, Pawan is keen about directing Gabbar Singh-2 and is taking the project as a prestigious one.
He is spending time with the writer Sridhar Seepana and Sampath Nandi inorder to make the script the best one. He is also involving himself in choosing characters in the movie. However, Pawan’s debut directional movie did not really work well and so the questions about his direction are yet to be analysed. Will he be able to be a block buster film-maker? Can he repeat the Gabbar Singh magic?
Who Is Behind Sachin’s AP Village Adoption?
Just recently, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar grabbed headlines as he adopted a village called Puttamraju Kandriga in Nellore district. Many are curious to know how and why he chose that remote place in Andhra Pradesh because he hails from Maharashtra. Sachin reportedly revealed that one bureaucrat spoke to him on a flight journey about it.

Vijay is brilliant with his dual roles, while fans like his conman role, serious movie lovers empathize with the activist role where he quizzes about corruption, farmer suicides and social responsibility of corporate companies. This double treat from Vijay should surely overwhelm his fan bases. Telugu version of Kaththi, titled the same, will hit screens on October 31st.

Tamil hero Vishal who had tasted few good hits in Telugu has been failing to make a mark at Tollywood box office in the recent past. His latest film directed by Hari is dubbed in Telugu as Pooja.
Story :
Srinivas (Vishal) locks horns with a criminal called Singannapatrudu (Mukesh Tiwary) as the latter messes with his family. Srinivas beats Singanna in a public place to which the latter seeks revenge on the former. Srinivas needs to safeguard his family from Singanna. How does Srinivas saves his family from Singanna forms rest of the story.
Performances:
Vishal: It is cakewalk for Vishal to play a hot blooded youth. He is very good in action sequences and has impressed in his scenes with Shruti. Vishal did complete justice to his character.
Shruti Haasan: Shruti Haasan gets a chance to play a notable role amid action drama. She is good as the female lead and definitely one of the major positives of this film.
Others: Satya Raj is fine as the police officer. Mukesh Tiwary is very good in the antagonist role. It is good to see someone different from the usual villains. Radhika did a dignified character. Jayaprakash, Sitara and Kausalya are impressive among the supporting cast. Soori gets on your nerves with loud comedy. Andrea sizzled in an item song.
Technicalities:
Direction: Hari is known for churning out commercial entertainers at will. He plays to the galleries with Pooja by inserting lot of action episodes. He tried his best to make Pooja an engaging watch by using his experience, but sadly the script is too weak. Hari has to blame himself for coming up with a story that doesn’t have any substance in it. He showed sparks of brilliance here and there, but on a whole Pooja makes a tedious watch.
Others: Vishal’s production values are good and so is the cinematography. Priyan’s work in action scenes is pretty impressive. Editing is not up to the mark. The film drags too much towards the end. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is mediocre. Background score is good though.

Analysis:
Hari who has the reputation of making mass friendly commercial entertainers tried to pull off yet another masala flick by using his tricks. He tries too hard to impress with a very weak script. Few action sequences have come out well and that is the only positive in this film besides able star cast.
It will be a big test to sit through the film right from the word go. Things get better towards the interval point and we expect a thrilling war between the protagonist and antagonist in the second half. Confrontation scenes between them are somewhat better than the remaining junk, but it gets repetitive after a while.
Mother-Son thread is left underdeveloped. Director should have made use of this thread instead of wasting time on stupid comedy scenes. Romance between Shruti and Vishal is a boring fare. Shruti’s parents behave very awkwardly to make that part even uglier. Director could have ended this film at any point after the interval. But he keeps on dragging to increase the pain of audience.
Pooja may appeal to audience who love to watch endless action scenes and a tug of war between the hero and villain. We have seen better commercial movies than Pooja and even Vishal has some very good action flicks to his credit. Pooja is a boring film that tries too hard to hold the interest of audience. Watch it at your own risk.
