A Focus: Tollywood Satellite Business

Share
The business of cinema runs in different forms and it is not just the theatre collections alone. The majority of films made in Tollywood are small and medium budget flicks and most of their revenue recovery happens through satellite business. But here is an insight on how this market has been in the last few years.
According to the business experts in filmnagar, except the films of Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Junior NTR, Ram Charan, Prabhas, Nagarjuna, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Victory Venkatesh, no other hero has got market in terms of satellite rights. Many films are still lying without takers after release.
The satellite rights are bought by the TV channels and now they have a new formula. Barring those heroes mentioned above, for any other film, they are stating Let the film become a hit then we will see.In few cases, some heroes are using some influence and lobbying to get things done. That’s how tough the satellite market is nowadays.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi turned Photographer

Share
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today surprised many when he decided to wield the camera at a formal interaction with journalists in the national capital, his first since coming to power in May.
While the BJP’s official photographer at the party headquarter was busy clicking pictures of the Prime Minister, the latter suddenly stopped to say it was now his turn to take a picture of him.

Dora seeks help from ‘Sannasi’

Share
A desperate KCR has publicly appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the man who he called as Sannasi for help. This is after facing flak from various quarters over his inept handling of the power issue, resulting in the suicides of at least three farmers on an average each day.
KCR is now seen being seen once again at his vitriolic best where he called the TDP boss and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu a ‘dayyam’ (devil) and held him responsible for the power woes of Telangana. KCR announced that Telangana would be knocking the doors of Supreme Court over Naidu’s refusal to provide electricity from the power plant in Krishnapatnam adding that his state should be getting 1,422 Megawatts from Krishnapatnam and Hinduja plants.
Many political seniors and analysts are saying it is surprising to see how this man who doesn’t respect any authority is now seeking Centre’s help to resolve the power situation in Telangana. Unless the centre intervenes, the situation is not going to change.

Just In: Pawan says Sorry!

Share
Yes, Pawan Kalyan is known for his down to earth mentality and also for his good terms with his fans. But, even Power Star feels that he has done a mistake and told sorry for it. The mistake is delaying the shooting of Gabbar Singh which is the most awaited movie. Pawan has made it clear that Gabbar Singh-2 is being packed with a very exciting script and the shooting will be on wheels really soon. He expressed his excitement and also grief by delaying the movie with his other prior commitments.
He also added that technicians for the movie are being waiting so long after the movie was announced and so he even apologized them. Shockingly, he has given all his dates to Gabbar Singh-2 even to promote the movie as much as he can because he is taking the project as a prestigious one. He even told the unit members that the movie will surely be a profitable one for the industry as well and so encouraged them to work well.
It seems that many technicians have left offers that came by to concentrate only on Gabbar Singh-2 and so this clearly tells the dedication towards the movie. So, Pawan and his unit has pinned all hopes on Gabbar Singh-2 and we wish them good luck as well! The question is will Pawan’s magic repeat? Will the movie reach the 100 crore mark? Does Pawan have that stamina?

Reddy’s Fitting Counter to KCR

Share
Telangana TDP leader and Kondangal MLA Revanth Reddy, who always take centre stage when it comes to criticizing KCR and TRS, does it again. Hitting hard this time around, Reddy said, “KCR is bluffing people of Telangana and farmers with half-baked truths. All his statements are bundle of lies.
After doing extensive research, Reddy shared the facts with media, “Ever since Telangana has been carved out, 273 Million Units of power have been additionally used by Telangana State and Andhra Pradesh has lost those 273 Million Units of power to Telangana.” Reddy said that Telangana is getting power through three forms- Hidal power, Thermal power and Central Government distributed power. Revanth blamed KCR for suicides of farmers and pointed out at his lack of inefficiency. “KCR is passing the buck and blaming Chandrababu Naidu for no reason. It’s deliberate attempt to demean TDP in Telangana,” Reddy said. However, Revanth didn’t stop there. “KCR seems to be drunk while making statements against Mr Chandrababu, ” Reddy lashed out.
Revanth further said, “Only because of Chandrababu, Telangana at least getting 54% of power. During bifurcation of state, assets and debts have been distributed such that AP bore the brunt. While Telangana got only 42%, AP was allotted 58% of debts. In that case, Telangana should only get 42% power and AP should get 58% power. Contrary to this, Telangana is getting 54% power now and the credit goes to Chandrababu. Since he has big heart for farmers in Telangana, we’re given 54% power. Had he approached courts, the issue would have been different now.”
Revanth Reddy vowed that all his figures and statements are true to his knowledge and based on the facts. Mr Reddy said that his source for date is “Southern Regional Load Despatch Centre (SRLDC)” and said he will owe full responsibility if anyone proves that his statements or figures are wrong. Revanth Reddy demanded Telangana government to constitute an All-Party Meeting on power crisis immediately.

Manmohan Singh Became President Of Pakistan?

Share
Don’t be stumped by reading the headline because that’s the natural shock which came to many in Pakistan. However, part of it became true when former PM of India Manmohan Singh was addressed as the President Of The Islamic Republic Of Pakistan. The credit for that goes to a leading Pakistani economic institute.
Apparently, the Pakistani Institute of Development Economics (PIDE) based in Islamabad is having it annual convocation and as part of that, they planned to invite Mamnoon Hussain to preside the event. But the blunder took place as the official invitation showed the name of Manmohan Singh instead of Mamnoon Hussain.
Though the blunder was discovered, it was too late because the official invitations have already been sent to all the VIPs leaving the recipients red faced with embarrassment. One can imagine the situation of the PIDE officials now. Anyhow, it became an instant for some groups to have a chuckle.

Trailer Talk: Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham

Share
Even as his debut film Rey is lying in cans, the trailer and audio of Sai Dharam Teja’s second film Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham have been unveiled. As expected, the trailer is energetic loaded with witty one liners. Lead actors Sai Dharam Teja, Regina have done their parts well in this action drama and it’s Jagapathi Babu who steals the show. Initially, late actor Sri Hari was cast in Jagapathi’s role but his untimely death has cast a shadow on the film and finally the unit had to reshoot the majority of episodes.
Given that two heavyweights like Allu Arvind and Dil Raju joined their forces, the movie is bound to have good storyline and neat production values. Proving this right, the trailer of Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam is promising and raising curiosity on the film. The Yagnam director AS Ravi Kumar Chowdary seems to have come back to his form.
Definitely, Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham appears to be good launching platform for the nephew of Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan. Alludu Sai is bound to enthral as he has two big mamiahas to support him behind the scene.

These multi-talented sisters have attended the Diwali bash of Bachchans on the even of festival. Both Shruti Haasan and Akshara graced the party in sarees with their gorgeous looks. Here are the pictures of them!

1500 Died in AP, No Info in Telangana – KCR

Share
As Telangana is facing acute power shortage, the suicides of farmers in the state continue to grow and is drawing national attention. While opposition parties in Telangana making huge cry over State government for turning blind eye to the critical issue, ruling TRS indulges in blame game and maintains that opposition is only keen on defaming the first government of the state.
Till now Telangana CM KCR remained tight lipped on the issue and as media taking up farmers deaths seriously, KCR has finally broken his silence. However he surprised one and all saying that about “1,500 people have died in Andhra” and what’s more shocking is he doesn’t have any appropriate information on farmers suicides but tried blaming media saying media is exaggerating the farmers deaths in region.
He said number of farmers suicides is not as “high” as “portrayed in the media”. The big ridicule doing rounds in political circles is that whether KCR has more “knowledge” on Andhra than Telangana?

Pic Talk: Hottest Sharma in the World

Evelyn Sharma didnot take much time to fall in the eyes of bollywood audience though she did less than ten films for now. The only factor that can keep an actress under spotlight is her hot appeal if not her acting.

Top Comedian For 2 Guinness Book Records

Share
If you aim for a Guinness record, it takes away half of your energy and efforts then achieving one takes away half your life. Still, the human resolve is so strong that many across the globe keep attempting to get this prestigious honor.
Now, one man in Tollywood actually stands a good chance to get not one but two Guinness records. He is none other than M S Narayana. Apparently, M S has done a whopping 700 movies in his career so he qualifies to aim for doing maximum number of films in a single language. As for the second stint, in 200 movies he has the done the role of a drunkard and no other actor in the world would have done that.
That way, he is equipped to gain two Guinness world records but we have to see how his team and well wishers will work towards it. Ideally, he should apply to the Guinness officials if he wants this honour so let us wish him the best of luck and hopefully it happens soon.

Ram Charan handed Cheque to Naidu

Actor Ram Charan has met Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu on Friday at camp office. Charan has handed over a cheque of Rs 10 Lakh to CM towards the welfare of Hudhud victims. It may be recalled that Charan had announced Rs 10 Lakh donation to AP CM Relief Fund soon after Hudhud lashed out North Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Union Transport Minister breaks Helmet Rule

Share
It is common sight every where in India with cops slapping heavy fines for surveys of two wheelers and four wheelers for breaking traffic rules. Police still be seen fining people for not carrying license, other documents, not wearing helmet, not wearing seat belt etc.
However today Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari shocked all by driving scooter without wearing helmet. This created controversy with opposition parties blasting him for flouting rules blatantly.
58 year old MP from Nagpur reached RSS office to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in Mahal area on his white scooter without wearing a helmet. Gadkari refused to comment when scribes questioned on him breaking rules. Congress said this reflects the attitude of party, Minster and government ruling the nation.
Nagpur traffic police in its website posted , wearing helmet is compulsory and violators will be charged Rs 100 under Section 177 of the M V Act-1988. It is nit clear whether police booked Transport Minister for breaking rules or not.

I love to call him Leader: Nara Lokesh

Share

Youth icon and the scion of Chandrababu Nara Lokesh has lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in his long interview with DC. Lokesh talked at length on various issues including Telangana, power crisis, KCR, KTR and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, ally Pawan Kalyan and etc.
Relationship with dad Chandrababu:
Although he is my dad, I only call him so at our residence. Elsewhere I call him as our Leader. In fact, I take pride in calling him as leader. My GrandFather NT Ramarao and father Chandrababu both have their own strengths and weaknesses. While grandpa was more “Leftist”, dad initially was “Rightist” and then shifted towards “Centre”. I’d love to continue at “Centre”.
Future CM of Telangana?
I can’t think myself as future CM of Telangana as there are several veteran leaders in our party in this region. Coming to Andhra Pradesh, our leader Chandrababu will lead for at least another 10 years. I’m more inclined towards party activities and stabilizing party rather than positions, posts.
Andhra or Telangana?
It’s too sensitive and controversial at the moment. Only time will tell.
On KCR:
KCR is the one who is spreading hatred. They’ve burnt down our party offices and sending SMSes to burn Opposition parties. No one who has promoted hatred against other region has ever progressed. I was critical about Jagan Mohan Reddy and I will be critical about KCR. Since I’m a voter in Hyderabad, I’ve every right to criticize him. It took life for our leader to build city on global standards, now the development has come to halt.
On Pawan Kalyan, BJP getting stronger in AP:
We are in government. It’s not time for us to focus on politics. Our priority is to give good governance. Pawan and BJP are our good allies.
Friendship with KTR:
KTR and I are good friends. We often meet at social dos.
On business, politics:
Both business and politics are my passion. My father is politician and my mother is a businesswoman. I’m more inclined towards politics and safeguarding interests of people. I’m keen to follow my father.
Nativity :
I’m neither Telanganite nor Andhrite. I’m a pucca Hyderabadi, I grown up in Hyderabad and has vote here.

Telugu Films First, Tamil Second, Hindi Third

Out of 1966 films made in the country in April 2013- March 2014, 349 were in Telugu, 326 in Tamil and 263 in Hindi. However, during the previous year (2012-2013) while a total of 1724 films were made, 292 were in Tamil, 280 in Telugu and 255 in Hindi.
Thanks to digital filmmaking which revolutionized the film production and the way movies were made.
A total of 744 Celluloid films were made in country last year, whereas only 188 Celluloid films were made this year. While 1778 digital films were made this year, last time it was 980. Prakash Raj Envy of Hero Srikanth

Share
Actor Prakash Raj, on lighter note, admitted that he is envy of actor Srikanth for simpleness and acting. Especially pointing at Srikanths’ performance in Ram Charan’s Govindudu Andarivadele, Prakash Raj has made these comments.
In the video interview of the team Govindudu, Prakash told Srikanth, “I’m envy of you. How can you be so simple? How can you safeguard your innocence?” Srikanth credited director Krishna Vamsi and said that it’s possible because of his bonding with Vamsi. “Ever since Khadgam, I share good rapport with Vamsi and it helped me to be active on the sets.”
Ram Charan also said he’s happy with the success and said he’s elated to get appreciations from Prakash Raj, Jayasudha and Srikanth. He said he’s always enjoyed working with Jayasudha – be it during Yevadu (as Mother-son) and now in Govindud as (Grandmother and grandson).
