Avadhani’s Counter to RGV’s Remarks
Noted preacher-poet ‘Avadhani’ Garikapati Narasimha Rao has breathed fire on director Ram Gopal Varma’s controversial remarks on Lord Ganesha. Taking on director indirectly, Mr Garikapati gave befitting reply to questions posed by RGV on Twitter.
Explaining the reason behind “beheading” of Ganesh by Lord Shiva, he says, “Goddess Parvathi had given a task to Ganesha not to enter anyone. That doesn’t mean Ganesha should not enter her own husband. Ganesha failed to distinguish between right and wrong. In order to give him wittiness and ability to distinguish, judge better, Lord Shiva has installed the head of Gajasura. Shiva had not cut Ganesha’s head, he has chopped Ganesha’s ignorance.”
Garikapati made it clear that “few” people are targeting Hindu mythology, puranas only “to hog limelight and desperate to be in news”.
What’s wrong with Charan?
Actor Charan Raj is in news for wrong reasons as he was spotted carrying a pistol into Kanipakkam Ganapathi temple on holy Ganesh Chaturthi day. Although the actor claims that it was not “deliberate” but just “mistake”, and even produces documents for his “licensed” pistol, there are many suspicions on his act.
He had told media, “I drove from Chennai to Kanipakkam this morning and reached the temple at 6.30 am. I went inside the temple in a hurry without removing the gun pouch. It was only after coming out of the temple, I realised that I had carried the pistol. I did it without knowing. I’d like to apologise as it’s my mistake.”
When Charan was in “Sri Ganesha Deeksha”, how can he carry pistol in first place? What is the need of carrying gun during a peaceful deeksha? And when cops asked him to present for inquiry, the actor requested cops that he had “some medical emergency” in Chennai and he left the place by saying he will attend before police next week. And Charan also “thanked” media for “free-publicity”. Looks like, Charan is hiding something. Isn’t it? More details will emerge only after detailed police inquiry.
NTR gave up 4 crores?
It is reliably learnt that, superstar NTR has forgone nearly Rs. 4 crores of his 18 crore remuneration for “Rabhasa” heeding to the request of producer Bellamkonda Suresh. Usually, big stars are quite particular about their pay cheques and financial obligations, but Nandamuri star seems to be an exception, may be he had a soft corner for producer who assured to promote the film in a big way and compensate for the amount, he saved.
The film budget has also gone over budget, due or reason like director’s illness and also due to various script changes took 4 to 5 months, But next producers who are making films with NTR needs not take him for granted, because superstars, are rarely so magnanimous.
It’s My Worst Film Ever
Actor Nagarjuna gets candid like never before. He modestly admits that Bhai was his worst film ever produced and acted. “I’ve acted, produced several films till date. Few of them didn’t do well commercially. But they were good films and I don’t have any regrets doing those films. Bhai is an exception to this and I take the blame for it but not anyone else. It has changed my mindset. After Bhai bombed, I’m looking for good script.”
Meanwhile, Nagarjuna is happy over shaping up of Naga Chaitanya’s career. After the success of Tadakha and Manam, Nag is confident on the success of Oka Laila Kosam. “I’ve watched Oka Laila Kosam and Chaitu has improved his acting from Manam.” And Nag remains tight lipped over the acting debut of his younger son Akhil and simply says, “We’re yet to finalize.”
Facts Behind Case against Puri Jagannadh
Recently, a case has been booked by Central Crime Station against director Puri Jagannadh and his wife Ms Lavanya. The case was booked following a complaint from residents of an apartment complex at Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad.
Going into details, director Puri Jagannadh had 1000 Sq yard plot at Jubilee Hills on which he raised a loan of Rs 5 Crore from State Bank of India in 2008. Later, the director managed to repay Rs 2.5 Crore to the bank. However, in 2010, Puri sold the land to Subbaraju Construction Company (SCC) by entering into an agreement such that the construction firm will repay the balance loan amount as part of settlement.
The construction firm, who built the apartment and sold it, now breached the agreement by not clearing the loan amount. With this, State Bank has issued notices to Puri Jagannadh, his wife Lavanya and the residents of apartment complex to clear the pending loan. Shocked with this, the flat owners have now lodged complaint with Central Crime Station against director Puri Jagannadh and builder. That’s the whole story behind case against Puri Jagannadh.

Lingaa Makers Not Aware of Enmt. Pollution?
Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘lingaa‘s shoot was halted twice with a gap of two months with a single reason. Some days ago, we heard that villagers from Anajpur, near Ramoji Film City halted the film’s shoot, alleging the unit sources were mixing some chemicals in the drinking water in the lake.
Currently, the movie’s shoot is progressing at Linganamakki dam in Karnataka. However, the environmentalists in the area are alleging that the film’s unit is dumping the plastics and other wastes in the dam. They have reportedly complained to the deputy commissioner on this issue. It’s now a hard time the makers of ‘lingaa‘ must be cautious keeping the environment safe and should not be indulged any such measures which pollute the environment.

Most Controversial Remarks on Lord Ganesh
Director Ram Gopal Varma is at it again. This time, he targeted Lord Ganesha and it’s uglier like never before. Taking to his micro-blogging page Twitter, RGV wrote, “The guy who couldn’t save his own head from being cut, how he will save others heads is my question? But Happy Ganpathi day to morons!” This post has been later “deleted” from Twitter.
However, he continued to “question” with series of his tweets. “What did Ganesha do that his brother kumara dint do so that only Ganesha became god? Is it becos Kumara dint get head cut off like Ganesha?”
“Can someone tell me if today is the day Ganesha was originally born or is it the day his dad cut his head off?”
“Does Lord Ganesha eat with his hands or his trunk?”
“I would really love to know from Lord Ganesha’s devotees a list of what obstacles he removed in all the years they prayed to him”
“Does Lord Ganesha eat much more than other Gods?
My doubt is becos all the other Gods are either trim or muscular”
“Did Lord Ganesha have a paunch in his childhood too or did it develop in the recovery time of the elephant head operation?”
“Can someone explain how someone can cut off a child’s head who was just trying to protect his mother’s modesty? Am sure devotees know better”
“All concerned pls undrstand tht my questions nd observations on Ganesha are coming from both my innocence nd ignorance on the subject matter”
RGV finally signed off by saying, “I think my films are flopping only becos of my attitude towards Gods. ..I wish I can become a devoteer”. With these kind of comments, RGV has invited a lot of wrath and many are expecting more trouble legally for the director.
Balakrishna Turns 40 in Tollywood
Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, scion of veteran NTR, has achieved a rare feat as he completed 40 years of successful run in Telugu film industry. Balayya made his acting debut in 1974 with a film Tatamma Kala. 40 years ago, the movie was released on August 30 (1974). The film showcased 14-yr-old Balakrishna in the role of Balakrishna and he performed the role with ease notwithstanding that he faced the camera for the first time. He never looked back since then and went onto act in several films including classics like Bhairava Dweepam, Aditya 369, Ramudu Bheemudu etc. His last film Legend was a blockbuster which minted money at ticket windows.
Balakrishna is presently juggling both films and politics. He is representing Legislative Assembly from Hindupur constituency in Anantapur district and also busy shooting for his 98th film Godse.
NewZealand cricketer “can’t wait” for ‘Linga’
Former NewZealand cricket team captain Ross Taylor has turned into a Rajnikanth fan and is eager to watch Superstar’s next film ‘Linga’ on the first day itself. Taylor even said, he “can’t wait” any longer to watch the film and is willing to travel all the way to Chennai from NewZealand to watch the film on first day.
Indian cricket team wicket keeper Dinesh Karthik on Twitter expressed his wish to watch Rajnikanth movie first day first show. Responding to this Tweet, Ross Taylor expressed his wish to join in for the show.
It is known that popularity of Superstar Rajnikanth has crossed Indian borders and his fans are spread across the world. Now, Ross Taylor’s interest in Rajnikanth’s movies only reiterates the fact that Superstar has fans even among celebrities.
Pranitha Vs Samantha in Rabhasa
No doubt, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Pranitha Subash are the two stars in demand and each one has their own niche, but it’s Pranitha who stole the show in Jr NTR’s Rabhasa. Pranitha who essayed the role of Bhagyam, friend of Indu (Samantha) has outwitted the latter with stunning her looks and especially with the naval show.
Despite her less screen presence, glamorous Pranitha has won the hearts. Even in Pawan Kalyan’s Attarintiki Daaredi, Pranitha sizzled as “Bapu Bomma”. Although Sam tried her best, her poorly-etched role holds her back. Even looks-wise, Sam was one step behind Pranitha. So, it’s time for Samantha to focus on the roles she choose.
Song Shortage Hits Charan’s Govindudu?
Ram Charan’s Govindudu Andarivadele has 13 days shooting left, where two days are catered for talkie and the rest for songs. Already two songs are canned on Charan and his rest of cast, and these three will make to ‘five’ wonderful melodies scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja for this Krishna Vamsi directorial. Reports have it that GAV will release with one song shortage.
In fact, Charan is in talks with Krishnavamsi to drop shooting of one song as there is severe shortage of time for post-production work. As the mega hero’s introduction song is a must, which will be shot in London, it can’t be avoided. KV should chose between two songs now, either a romantic duet on Charan-Kajal to be shot in Jordan or the family song that will be filmed in Nanakramguda studios. Definitely our creative director will pick the home-song, as the flick is all about relations in a family.
Anyway, Govindudu Andarivdele team denied having any such plan on their minds, but sounded hell-bent to finish everything as planned and screen the flick in theatres from Oct 1. But if rumors come true, then we will be watching only four songs on silver screen, while fifth song will be limited to just audio CD.
Actor enters Kanipakam Temple with a gun
Yesteryear Actor Charan Raj frightened the devotees of Lord Ganesha on the auspicious Vinayaka Chaviti. The actor visited the famous Kanipakam temple in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh a short while ago and in the security check there, he was found carrying a gun. For a moment, the devotees who are in the temple for the darshan were frightened.
Charan Raj however clarified that he always carry his licensed gun for personal protection and he did the same in the temple with out the knowledge of the temple rules. Security took the possession of the gun and later returned after he came out of the temple completing the darshan. Devotees are seen appreciating the temple security’s good job in even not letting celebrities with out checking. Charan Raj was a famous actor down the South in late 80s and early 90s.
He recently made a comeback in to Telugu films and acted in handful of films like Current, Asadhyudu, Em Pillo Em Pillado, Komaram Puli, Adhinayakudu and Paisa. Sadly, all the films in his second innings are big flops and his roles in the films did not help his career in the second innings in any way.
Can Shruti Do Where S & T Failed?
Three back to back successes have left seductress Shruti Haasan unchained to wander high in sky and do whatever she likes. Balupu, Yevadu and Race Gurram did wonders for her in Tollywood, and she is now anticipating similar fate in Kollywood too.
Inaugurating her Tamil account with flops, Shruti felt depressed for failures of 7th Sense and Three, but never let her spirit down. She will now sizzle in a ‘pakka’ commercial role beside dark horse Vishal in the upcoming ‘Poojai’. Interesting thing is that she will be rendering own voice for Tamil flick, as well as for Telugu dubbed version also. Titled ‘Pooja’, the film will have Shruti dubbing all her lines, while she is singing two songs.
Earlier Samantha tried Telugu dubbing with a couple of movies before withdrawing in the last minute as her voice sounded bad. Milky Beauty Tamanna too had some nightmarish experiences before her voice was replaced in the last minute. Can Shruti succeed in this area, where her competitors failed by doing well with Telugu dubbing? Wait and watch.
Rajamouli’s ‘Unbelievable’ Response
Generally directors who copy scenes from Korean films and French movies are quite abundant in Telugu industry generally don’t agree with that. But geniuses like SS Rajamouli, the master of creativity and quality, admit anything frankly. Here is one such unbelievable incident.
Apparently there was a sequence in 2003 Telugu release, Vijayashanti’s ‘Shambavi IPS’ where the leading-lady is confronted by a villain’s son, who starts teasing her in front of a politician. She drops bullets in his path only to make him slip and fall from the terrace in order to get hanged to a tree due to the police-belt hanging around his neck. Of course, this reminds us of the same scene where Raviteja says in the end, ‘Police vaadey kaadu, vanti meeda uniform kooda duty chestundi’. This is from Rajamouli’s 2006 film ‘Vikramarkudu’. Now, one wonders how come a director like Rajamouli has blatantly lifted whole scene including dialogues. But the truth is something different.
“I’ve copied from other films/novels before, but not the bullets scene from Vikramarkudu. That was written by my father long back. I don’t know how that made its way into Sambhavi IPS. I neither have time nor interest to dig into it. This is for people who believe me. Those who like to believe otherwise please feel free to do so”, clarified Rajamouli, through his micro-blogging site.
First Look: Vibrant ‘Electric Wire’
At any given time, Manchu Manoj’s first look posters of any films are always doled out with loads of creativity. That’s his name for the game. And the upcoming vibrant electric wire is also going to cast same magical spell, as our talented Rocking Star is growing more energetic each day.
Manoj’s dare devil stunts; Sunny Leone’s spicy glamour and Rakul Preet Singh’s innocent presence are combined with director Nageswar Reddy’s immense talent. The result is simply ‘Current Theega’ and the first look poster is speaking more than what we say. Manoj flaunt his classic smile and ‘voora’ mass cutout as usual, while the colourful setup indicates how electrifying this live-wire is going to be. Doting brother Vishnu is producing this flick for his younger one.
Superstar’s great gesture for siblings?
Although, Pawan, NTR and Ram Charan pocket their remunerations, but superstar Mahesh babu likes to share his earnings with his siblings in most of his movies. According to a source, if a producer, approaches Dhookudu star for dates and starts discussing about his remuneration, which has touched 18 crore recently, but he reportedly inform that ‘his dates’ are with his brother and producer Ramesh Babu or his sister and producer Manjula, but if producer, wants those specified dates, the producer has to take them by giving 2 to 3 crore, either to Ramesh or Manjula, depending on the turn of their dates.
Kudos to mahesh, since his love for his siblings is strong and helpful and likes to share his earnings with them, as much as possible. In these days, when earning brothers are ignoring their siblings, Mahesh is stand out as a example, how a rich and earning bro should be like. He is turly ‘okkadu” (unique) even offscreen, we agree?
