The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge seems to have claimed life of a teenage boy. Cameron Lancaster, 18, who took up the ice bucket challenge had jumped into “disused” quarry and didn’t come back, say eye-witnesses. The Prestonhill Quarry in Inveighing, Scotland was a regular spot for swimming as several teenagers usually jump in although it’s not in use. But this turned out to be tragedy for Lancaster.

Emergency services soon turned up at the accident spot and recovered Lancaster’s body after four-hour search in the deep water. The family of Lancaster was said to be devastated with the sudden loss. This is perhaps, the first human death linked to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge.

Creative film makers Krishna Vamsi’s past glory of delaying the shoots of a movie with thirst for perfection, painted ambiguity over ‘Govindudu Andarivadele’ release. Not really. Rumors have engulfed that way, but Mega Powerstar Ram Charan’s planning is perfectly alright to make the flick sizzle in theatres from October 1st.

When quizzed, Govindudu Andarivadele team confirmed that they have just 13 days shooting left, of which 2 days is catered for patch-work related to talkie part. In the rest eleven days, two foot tapping songs will be filmed in London and Jordan, while another song will be caned in popular house-set in Nanakramguda studios. Charan is already prepping up for his introduction song to be shot in London, while Kajal will be joining him in Jordan for a romantic melody. All the ensemble cast of GAV will be back to Nanakramguda for a couple of days to wrap up the final song, that marks end of principal shooting. 

Coming to post-production, first half of the movie is edited and locked for the now. Music director Yuvan Shankar Raja started re-recording work in Chennai from yesterday. By September 20th, he will finish background scoring of entire flick. Also Yuvan completed final-mix of songs and GAV audio will be unveiled in a grand gala on September 15th. There is no stopping for this October 1st release, as the team sketched out a perfect schedule. Wait for the big date. 

To all the fans of Akkinenis and Nandamuris out there, here is a great news. Contrary to reports of Akkieni’s movie Oka Laila Kosam slugging out with NTR’s Rabhasa at theatres, the formers have been dropped out of race halting the much-awaited Box Office clash.
 
According to highly placed sources, Naga Chaitanya-Pooja Hegde starrer Oka Laila Kosam is not releasing on Friday (Aug 29, 2014) making way for NTR. As per fresh reports, Chaitanya’s romantic caper will be hitting the screens on September 5 on the eve of Teacher’s Day.

The initial release of Oka Laila Kosam was in September and it had been advanced to Aug 29 after reports of NTR’s Rabhasa were surfaced. But soon after Bellamkonda Suresh confirmed that Rabhasa is coming on the same day, Annapurna Studios has decided to go back. With this, there will not be any jostle for screens as NTR’s Rabhasa is the solo contender at Box Office. “After many twists and turns there will be no anxious moments between fans of two groups and the movies will be releasing in serene climate, ” shared a source. Now fans of NTR and Naga Chaitanya have a reason to cheer. 

Anchor Anasuya has now joined the bandwagon of Telugu celebrities who took up ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Anasuya did it after her friend nominated her for this. Briefing about bringing awareness on ALS disease (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Anasuya said she is doing this for “fun” and also says she want to spread awareness on “several” health-related issues among Indians.

DVV Danayya is the producer ready to invest on this project, if nani gives his final opinion. Teaming of nani and Maurthi sounds a bit abnormal yet we cannot conclude anything for now.

For the first time in their careers, Victory Venkatesh and Powerstar Pawan Kalyan have teamed up for multistarrer film ‘Gopala Gopala’. This is a remake of super hit Bollywood movie ‘Oh My God’.

Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan are essaying the roles played by Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar in the original version. Speculations were strong that Pawan Kalyan’s role in the film was supposed to be 25 minutes and then it got extended to 45 minutes. When we contacted Mr. Suresh Babu, he said “I don’t know about this 25 or 45 minutes thing because a producer can talk about the footage only after the shooting is completed.

Both Venkatesh and Pawan Kalyan are crucial in this film and they have a special song together, which isn’t there in the Hindi version. We have extended the roles of both the actors according to the nativity and without losing the charm of the original script”. Shriya Saran is the leading lady and Anup Rubens is composing the music.

After making a successful film like ‘Drishyam’, Suresh Babu expressed his confidence on the project and added that this film is definitely going to entertain Telugu audience. Tamil producer should do his home work better, or he will be left with no produers for Telugu dubbing rights, until he scales down to reasonable rate.

Pure entertainment, totally mass and nonstop fun! This is what we have to say about ‘Power’ trailer. Mass Raja’s potential is unleashed to the max again by newcomer, director KS Ravindra (Bobby). Adrenaline rushing action sequences, high voltage punch dialogues and extreme comedy are the strengths of this flick. Along with Raviteja, Hansika too joined comedy brigade while Brahmanandam and Saptagiri are leading it from other side.

Dialogues are going to be major asset to ring cash registers. Histrionics of Raviteja are at peaks again, and the trailer make us feel like a blockbuster is in the offing. Produced by Rockline Venkatesh, Power has its thumping music scored by Thaman. 

Producer Natti Kumar and controversies come hand-in-hand. The small-time producer, who produced mostly dubbed films including Dhanush-starrer ‘3’ (Kolaveri Di), is known for making sensational statements. He is at it again.

Natti Kumar’s latest target is a TDP minister from Andhra Pradesh and his followers. Natti alleged, “A TDP Minister and his follower Ashok Kumar with the help of a middleman Govinda Raju have received bribe of Rs 50,000 from theatres’ owners claiming to waive off Service Tax for the years 2006 to 2012.” That’s not all. Natti Kumar alleged that producer-distributor NV Prasad, Purvi Raju, Alankar Prasad, Chinni, Raju were also part of this illegal activity. Questioning Chandra Babu Naidu’s promise to curb corruption, Natti demanded that the culprits should be put behind the bars within 24 hours. 

Finally, the long wait has come to an end. The lead lady for Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ second film has been confirmed. It’s none other than Miky beauty Tamannah Bhatia. Given that Tammu already shook her legs with Sreenivas in a special item number in Alludu Seenu and the pair looked great, director Boyapati Sreenu and producer Bellamkonda Suresh have voted for Racha actress.

Although earlier Shruti Haasan’s name did the rounds, makers have finally opted for Tamanna. Tamanna says that her role in the film is what impressed her to take up the offer and she raves about her character claiming that it is well-etched. However, Tammu says that she can’t reveal about her role at the moment. 

Amid reports that Tamil Nadu BJP is wooing Superstar Rajinikanth and likely to announce him as the party’s CM candidate in the upcoming elections, BJP unit in Tamil Nadu clarified that “it’s all media’s speculation”. However, BJP maintained that it would welcome if the actor is willing to join the party.

Tamil Nadu BJP president Ms Soundararajan, who was in New Delhi on Tuesday, said, “Rajinikanth was already in the good books of BJP. Rajinikanth announced Rs. one crore help when our great Vajpayeeji announced interlinking of rivers. He is a pan-India actor. We will cordially invite him and welcome him.”

It may be recalled that PM Narendra Modi had met Rajinikanth during his visit to Tamil Nadu as part of the Lok Sabha election campaign. Reports are rife that Rajini would soon make his political foray.
