Rating : 3.25/5
Film: Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde
Starring: Nithin,Nitya Menon,Isha Talwar
Director: Vijay Kumar
Producer: Nikitha Reddy
Banner: Shreshta Movies
Music: Anup Rubens

Story

Karthik (Nithin) is a happy go lucky guy, who works as an analyst in a software company enjoying his life. Karthik comes across Shruthi (Isha Talwar) in a wedding party and instantly falls for her. With the help of his friend Pandu (Ali), he gets her mobile number but Pandu who is drunk gives him a wrong number and this miscommunication leads to several confusions with Karthik ending up calling Sravani (Nithya Menen) thinking that he is speaking to Shruti. Karthik and Sravani fall in love after their several conversations but what happens when the duo comes to know about the confused wrong number. Who will Karthik marry forms the rest of the story.

Performances
Nithin looked handsome sporting cool outfits. He has brought ease to his performance and danced extremely well in the remix song of Tholi Prema. Nithin has also tried out comedy and his comic timing is quite impressive at spontaneity.

Nithya Menen is natural and expressive at her acting and her characterization has multiple shades, which she acts brilliantly. Her chemistry with Nithin is appealing to watch.

Isha Talwar looks hot but her role is limited, Ali did a good job while Thagubothu Ramesh brings laughs, Madhu is good, Jwala Gutta’s much hyped isn’t that effective on-screens.

Technical Analysis

Anup Rubens music is too good and songs are well captured. Cinematography by Andrew is visually rich. Vijay Kumar Konda impresses with his directorial debut film. Screenplay is engaging and gripping, dialogues are effective, Editing is crisp.

Analysis

Nithin and Nithya Menon entertained with the film Ishq which ended up as grand success and since then, the expectations on Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde were high and now, the film managed to reach the audiences expectations and in fact GJG has good dosage of entertainment than Ishq. Nithin and Nithya Menon’s crackling chemistry works for this film and audiences connect to the emotional bonding. Despite the second half moving at a slightly slow pace, it never fails to entertain. The emotions are handled with a touch of humor. Director Vijay Kumar Konda comes up with simple storyline, but he packed it with the gripping screenplay and fast paced narration. The songs are well-captured and the Pawan Kalyan’s remix song need a special mention for Nithin showcasing his brilliant dance moves. Also, the interval scene of Kushi is neatly incorporated.

More than all, Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde is a clean entertainer with no violence or double entendres besides a couple of gay jokes, and a refreshing watch for the family audiences.

Final Verdict

Nithin & Nithya repeats the magic of Ishq… Go watch it!!!

Gouravam Movie Review – 2.5/5

Share
Rating : 2.5/5
Film: Gouravam
Starring: Allu Sirish, Yami Gautam,Prakash Raj
Director: Radha Mohan
Producer: Prakash Raj
Banner: Duet Movies
Music: Thaman
Story
Arjun (Allu Sirish), a rich guy moves on an expedition to find his missing friend Shankar. When he reaches Shankar’s village he finds out that his friend eloped with a girl who is of higher caste than his and is also village head Pasupati’s (Prakash Raj) daughter, who goes missing for six months. Now, Arjun finds it very tough in finding his missing friend and with the help of a trainee lawyer Tamini (Yami Gautam) he will come across many unpleasant facts. Now, dealing with all these consequences forms the crux.
Performances
Allu Sirish hasn’t chosen the same old action entertainer or a love genre on his debut. As a debutant, he did an okay job but he needs to get polished in his dances, and expressions to prove his talent.
Yami Gautam opted for a spotless and careful script. She holds some weighted role in this film which is very hard find yet she performed well and impresses as trainee lawyer.
Prakash Raj suits himself in showing various grey shades. He performed well as a father who is in deep pain and as a village head who struggles to get back the lost admiration in the society.
Technical Analysis
Just like every Radha Mohan’s film, Gouravam is also technically sound film. Cinematographer Preetha has done a fine job in capturing locales of a village. S.S.Thaman musical scores are pleasing while the background score is impressive. Alen’s editing is quite decent as this kind of movies will have nothing more to offer. Director Radha Mohan should be appreciated for taking such a gentle issue.
Analysis
Allu Sirish chooses a thought provoking story for his debut and this is in fact a good choice. Director Radha Mohan and producer Prakash Raj should get the credits for choosing such a highly sensible script. As said earlier, this kind of script should be handled logically and with gripping narration but Gouravam falters with slow paced narration. Gouravam has got more sentiment, action and the climax becomes preachy. First half of the movie is extremely slow paced and second half is decent but the lack of commercial elements might not appeal Telugu audiences.
Final Verdict
Thought provoking story, but slow-paced narration plays spoilsport

5-year girl raped for 2 days: Cops offered bribe Rs. 2,000 to keep silence!

Share
In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was repeatedly raped for two days by her neghbour. More shocking is the news that police offered the girl’s father a bribe of Rs. 2,000 to maintain silence when he went to them to complain.

The girl was abducted April 15 and kept hostage for two days without food and water in a flat owned by the attacker, said to be in his 30s. He lived on the ground floor of the building in east Delhi’s Gandhi Nagar, in which the victim’s family also stayed, police said.

The girl is now batting for her life in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. The girl who was earlier admitted to Swami Dayananda Hospital in East Delhi was shifted to AIMS after public outcry and as the girl’s condition turned serious. It is learnt that the girl’s throat was cut and her genitals were badly mutilated.

The father of the girl said Friday that the police had offered him Rs.2,000 to keep quiet, and advised him to “thank god that his daughter was alive”.

“We went to the police to register an FIR (First Information Report) but they refused. They never tried to find her, and instead drove us away,” the father of the victim told reporters here outside the Swami Dayananda Hospital.

The father said that when the family finally found the girl Wednesday, the police told the family to not highlight the issue, and offered them Rs.2000 to keep mum.

“The police told us that we should not highlight the issue in the media and gave us Rs.2,000 as kharcha-pani (for expenses and refreshment),” said the father, adding that the police further told them to “thank god that his daughter was alive”. “The police told us to take our daughter home and pray for her recovery,” said one of the girl’s relatives.

The girl was raped repeatedly, and rescued when members of her family heard her screams Wednesday evening, police said.

A doctor treating the child said her condition is “serious” and the “next 24-48 hours are critical”.

Earlier, a large gathering of protestors gathered outside the hospital and shouted slogans, demanding the resignation of the Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit. They also demanded that the accused be immediately shot dead.

Which award has a greater significance?

Share
T.Subbarami Reddy, of these days has been in news through his kala seva in Vizag. The former MP has decided to giveaway the awards through his TSR Lalithakala Parishad, He aimed at the standards of the awards would be more than on par with national level awards such as, ‘Film Fare’, ‘Stardust’ etc. He tied up with a TV news channel to select the winners of the awards in different categories. However, a strange situation is likely to be encountered by the winners especially in the categories of best actor and best hero.

As of now, we have seen the conferment of best actor awards by many award committees. In contrast, TSR Kalapeetham has decided to present both best actor and best hero awards. But then, which award has a greater significance, best actor or best hero? Looking into the winners lists and the news of these awards, Balakrishna  and Nagarjuna have been given the prime importance as best actors rather Ram Charan and Allu Arjun as best heroes.

” Maybe, the ideology of the TV channel worked out for creating a sort of controversy by selecting both best actors and the best heroes,” opines an observer.

Senior Telangana Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao on Friday faulted Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy for “shielding” the tainted Ministers accused of corruption charges.

Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Friday, Hanumanth Rao said his “learned” colleague in the Upper House Dr KVP Ramachandra Rao was such an expert, who can disclose even minute details of lands in the State if one gave him the Survey Number of any land. He also said he would go on fast-unto-death from May 5 if the Chief Minister failed to solve the issue of Amberpet Government School land, which was in the occupation of private persons.

The three-time Rajya Sabha member has alleged that government lands in the Telangana region were being encroached upon by the Seemandhra land sharks at their will. He also alleged that higher officials were backing the bigwigs in allotting government lands. He also alleged that late chief minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy did not spare any vacant land and simply encroached upon them. He said Dr YSR’s confidant Dr KVP played key role in every land allotment during YSR’s regime.
