The never ending Flop Saga!

Share

untitled

Varun Sandesh’s hopes of putting a break to his flop streak have gone down the drain the yet again. His recent release ‘Nuvvala Nenila’ has gone unnoticed. It was among the three small releases that have seen light on last weekend. Nuvvala Nenila managed to get less than ten theaters in Hyderabad while Geetanjali and Gaalipatam got more than twenty.

Mainstream critics didn’t even find Nuvvala Nenila worthy of a review. Varun Sandesh’s career is going downhill with each film and it would be very hard for him to get back in business. He needs some big producers or big directors to show faith in him. Doing small films like Nuvvala Nenila wouldn’t do any good for his sinking career.

Varun still has a couple of films on hand, but he cannot get new offers if this flop saga continues. He was once among the favorite actors of top filmmakers. Now he is topping the list of super flop heroes of this generation. Tough luck Varun!

Superb planning by Junior Raviteja

Young actor Nikhil is known as poor man’s Raviteja. Being a great fan of Mass Maharaja, Nikhil tries to imitate his idol in most of the scenes. He is the only one who is still hanging in there among the Happy Days lot. A lot of this credit should go to his planning. Despite not having any God Fathers or mentors in film industry, Nikhil is going great guns all because of his superb planning.

He made some right choices to become what he is now. After scoring a big hit with Swamy Rara, Nikhil played the waiting game rather trying to cash upon the success. He did a thriller called Karthikeya, which is carrying very good reports among the film circles. He didn’t even sign up for Swamy Rara sequel although he is in good terms with the makers of that film.

Nikhil has signed up for a romantic comedy titled Surya vs Surya after rejecting so many scripts. Karthikeya is due for release on August 22nd. Nikhil is carefully climbing up the ladder and not in a hurry to reach the top. He is aware of the fact that losing grip at this point would push him down, very down!

Naga Chaitanya’s Mega Sketch exposed!

Share

untitled

Naga Chaitanya is very good at making romantic entertainers when compared to commercial potboilers. Recent failure of Autonagar Surya made him think twice about taking up larger than life characters. Chaitanya decided to stick with romance and comedy genres for a while.

Chaitu is aware of the limited appeal of romantic entertainers. He knows that he needs the support of mass audience to get bigger hits. However he can’t risk it again by doing films like Autonagar Surya and Bejawada. So Chaitanya decided to expand his market by entering into Tamil market.

He will release all his future films in Tamil to test the waters. Later he will plan a very big bilingual in the direction of a popular Tamil director. Recently many others tried to do the same but they hardly made an impact in Tamilnadu. Chaitanya’s choice of scripts may work in his favor though. Best of luck dude!

Bellamkonda’s Huge Plans for Younger Son

Top producer Bellamkonda Suresh who has spent a bomb on Alludu Seenu to launch his elder son Bellamkonda Srinivas as hero is all set to produce his second film too. Srinivas’s second film will be directed by Boyapati Srinu. This film is all set to start rolling from August 27.

Meanwhile Bellamkonda Suresh is also planning to launch his younger son Ganesh Babu as hero. Ganesh produced Alludu Seenu and is raring to try his luck as hero. Suresh is planning to launch Ganesh with a project as huge as Alludu Seenu. He is in talks with top directors for the same.

Suresh came to film industry with a dream of being a star. He went to Ram Gopal Varma and asked for a role in Shiva. RGV didn’t even look at Suresh’s face and rejected him straightaway. That incident made him a producer and Suresh is now reliving his dreams in the form of his sons. Great story no?

Ram Charan’s Bumper Offer – Hit One Get One!

Ram Charan is not hundred percent satisfied with the stories narrated to him for the 150th film of Megastar Chiranjeevi. Mega Power Star wants this landmark film to be a milestone in Telugu Film History. So he is not settling for ‘bankable’ scripts. That is the reason why nothing has been finalized yet for Megastar’s comeback film.

Creative Director Krishna Vamsi also has a chance to grab this opportunity if he scores big with Govindudu Andarivadele. Recently Krishna Vamsi said that he has a very good script for Megastar. He claimed that it would become internationally acclaimed film for sure. Krishna Vamsi caught the attention of Ram Charan who will produce Megastar’s 150th movie.

Charan is willing to handover the responsibility of directing Chiranjeevi to Krishna Vamsi if he proves his mettle with GAV. Even Chiranjeevi is looking forward to that. Krishna Vamsi couldn’t ask for anything better when his career as director is in dire straits.

Sachin Makes Way for Surya

Coming August 15, Independence Day, Surya alone is going to test his luck in Telugu as there are no other big-ticket films jostling for screens. Although earlier Vishnu Manchu-starrer and RGV directorial Anukshanam was due for release, the movie has been pushed to September 1st week release.

Going by latest reports, Sachiin Joshi’s Nee Jathaga Nenundali (Telugu remake of Aashiqui 2), which was also supposed to release on Aug 15, has been out of race. Buzz is that Sachiin’s film would be hitting screens on August 22.

Only small-budget film Lovers, starring Sumanth Ashwin and Nandita, will be competing with Surya’s Sikander. While Sikander is dubbed film of Anjaan, Lovers is striaght Telugu film. Let’s wait and see which one will come out of flying colours.

Producer in troubles with Dubbing Idea

Share

untitled

It would be a big joke if Telugu film ‘Ra Ra Krishnayaa’ is being dubbed into Hindi. Since actually Telugu version was supposed to be rip-off of Hindi film ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya…starring Ritesh and Genelia and even B-town producers are willing to file a case on Telugu producer Vamsi Krishna and director Mahesh for stealing their storyline under copy right act.

In this ugly, situation, if Telugu producer wants to prove the point by dubbing in romantic comedy and its bound to get ‘legal issues’ of B-town producers are uncompromising, then its going to tough time for Telugu producer and his team.

So, it looks unbelievable joke, because its difficult to copy a film and then re-release it in the same version, without required permission from original makers. Lets see how, it is going turn ugly or not?

KTR Surprises TFI With 100 Cr Question

Popular assumption is that Telangana CM KCR’s son, IT Minister KTR will not be supporting Telugu Film Industry’s demands, especially of those related to makers and heroes from Andhra region. But he stunned one and all today by attending the muhurat event of a Telugu movie. He posed a straight question to directors and producers of Tollywood, giving goose bumps to media folks at the spot.

‘Already Bollywood flicks are touching 500 crores revenues and we are still struggling to cross 100 Crores. When will our films collect more than 100 Cr?’, asked KTR, springing a surprise for Telugu movie makers. ‘KCR government is ready to provide exemptions for film industry. Telugu film big-wigs should advise both AP and Telangana governments about steps to be taken for development of Film Industry to an international level’, he stressed. Many people might have not expected such a positive and collective statement from KTR and this makes the intentions of T-state clear.

After attending the launch of new movie ‘Tippu’ in which popular distributor Vizag Raju’s son Karthik is debuting as a hero, KTR made these interesting comments. He stated that even Vizag should be developed at rapid pace as Telugu movie-making hub. Both KTR and producer Suresh Babu are seen engrossing in a candid chat at Ramanaidu studios, where this event took place. Andhra Pradesh minister Ayyannapatrudu also attended this event.

Mahesh makes it tough for NTR and Charan

Share

mahesh aagadu

Mahesh Babu’s Aagadu is getting hotter by the day. Recently launched teaser is a super hit thus increasing the hype and hoopla around the film. Mahesh’s out and out mass portrayal as police inspector gives us a feeling that he is going to hit big this time. Mahesh Babu didn’t do many mass friendly roles in his career so far.

Except for Pokiri, there is no other mass masala movie in Mahesh’s filmography. Aagadu is going to be the next Pokiri for him. Can this film too go on to become the biggest hit of Telugu film industry? We have wait for few more days to know that. Meanwhile Mahesh is concentrating more on penetrating into the masses now. He has a very strong fan base among the class and A center audience. Mass following has been his weak link until now.

This is where his close competitors like NTR and Charan are scoring big. Mahesh is working on his weaknesses to make it tougher for his competitors to catch up with him. Charan and NTR are already struggling to match Mahesh’s stamina in overseas and Nizam. With Mahesh focusing on their area of strength, it would be hard for these heroes to surpass the Superstar in coming days.

Just In: Anukshanam gets A Certificate

Share

untitled

Vishnu Manchu’s Anukshanam has been cleared by the regional Censor Board. CBFC has cleared the film on Tuesday with ‘A’ Certificate without any cuts. Billed to be a movie on serial killings in Hyderabad city by a miscreant cab driver, the movie has RGV’s trademark intense, violence scenes which led Censor to opt for A certificate.

Apart from this, we hear that the film has no “double meanings” or “derogatory” remarks or no “controversial” issues. Sources in the know shared, “Censor Board was all praises for Anukshanam as the movie takes on social evil, attacks against women. Regional Officer Dhanalaxmi too liked the film. After a while, RGV will be back with a bang with this film.”

If all goes well, the movie will hit the marquee on September 5, on the eve of Teachers’ Day.

Leakage is Not Painstaking For Sikander

Share

untitled

Leakages have become virus these days, and whenever it rains they dance in joy. More precisely speaking, just before a big-budgeted flick’s release, these leakages take a toll. Anyway the kind of leakages Surya’s latest movie is experiencing will not be painstaking for sure.

Various stories are doing rounds in media that the ‘real story’ of Surya’s latest action entertainer ‘Sikander’ is out. It is being publicized that this film is about two friends, Surya and Vidyut Jamwal, and when Vidyut gets killed his friend Surya too fakes death. Later he comes up in a changed look as brother of gangster Surya and finds out the real shocking facts behind his friend’s death. Well, some trade analysts predict that this leakage will forfeit chances of Surya at box office. Definitely not!

A look at trailer of this Linguswamy directorial creates similar story idea even for a common movie viewer. Are Surya and his director so dumb that they will reveal everything by trailer itself? Also Linguswamy is a master in screenplay and his main caliber is carving out a gripping thriller even from regular story. So, there is no need to worry about story-leakage of Sikander, slated for August 15 release.

NTR Suggests Cuts in Rabhasa?

Share

NTR-Rabhasa

Superstar NTR is leaving no stone unturned to deliver a blockbuster and is reportedly insisting on chopping off 6 to 8 minutes of unnecessary scenes and dialogues to make it tight and viewer-friendly. Highly reliable sources claim that these portions were shot by director Santhosh Srinivas, when he was having differences with Nandamuri scion.

Although the Kandireega director rubbished rumours of rift as baseless, our source maintains that even seasoned director Vinayak once interfered and sorted out issues with director, on the request of producer Bellamkonda suresh, so director can’t rule out every thing. The friction led to NTR taking more interest in the film and he is making sure that he would satisfy viewers beyond his fans, to erase the bad memories of debacles like Ramayya Vastavayya, Dammu and Oosaravelli. So NTR is particular about editing the unnecessary and drab stuff, since he doesn’t want to take any risks. Who said, t-town stars don’t take keen interest in their movies…think again folks.

Mahesh’s BGM – Who Copied From Whom?

Mahesh-Babu2

Social networks are abuzz from today morning about young composer Thaman’s plagiarism. Cine lovers are busy accusing that he stole yet another stunning music track, this time from a Malayalam flick, and used it as background music for Superstar Mahesh Babu. However, truth seems to be inverse of this.

More than his song tunes, Thaman provides versatile and never before heard of kind sounds for background scores. His latest one for Mahesh Babu’s Aagadu is pretty outstanding. It catapulted Thaman into a big league of composers who are known for scoring exceptional theme music. However, netizens blamed Thaman saying that he copied the score from a Malayalam flick titled ‘Avataaram’, whose music is composed by popular Deepak Dev. Fans and Anti-fans are fighting over this, but the truth is on Thaman’s side this time.

Way back in May, Thaman composed the background score of Aagadu and some vocal hymns and chorus we hear in Aagadu theme come directly from Thaman’s mouth. But Malayali movie Avataram trailer was released just three weeks back and features the same theme song, including vocals. Is there any point accusing that Aagadu copied it? It is vice-versa!

Teja’s Heroine Third Time lucky?

Remember Ester Noronha? Well, she made her debut with Sai Ram Shankar-starrer 1000 Abaddalu. Though the movie turned out to be a debacle and she didn’t get noticed much, she bagged a second film. Her second film was opposite Suneel in Bheemavaram Bullodu under Suresh Productions. Even this film didn’t change her fortunes much. The latest is Ester has bagged yet another film where she will be pairing up with Srikanth. The yet-to-be-titled film is going onto floors shortly and we hear that Ester plays village belle in the film.

Director Teja’s heroines have a special skill to bounce back and most of them proved successful in showbiz. Be it Kajal Aggarwal (Lakshmi Kalyanam) or Sada (Jayam) or Anita (Nuvvu Nenu) or Nanditha (Neeku Naaku Dash Dash, Prema Katha Chitram fame) have carved out a niche for themselves. Let’s see whether Ester do fall in same line or not. We have to wait and watch if Ester is third time lucky or not.

Miss Universe In President Of India’s Book

Susmitha Sen

The damsel who often looks like a synonym for timeless beauty is none other than former Miss Universe Sushmitha Sen. Nearing her 40s, she is still heartthrob of many and when she walks the ramp in elegance and style, carrying off that royal Bengali siren’s look, our hearts will drench in madness.

Coming to the point, Sushmitha Sen has shot headlines after it is revealed that she is the only woman from the field of arts to be featured in President Of India’s coffee table book titled ‘The Indian Woman’. This exclusive paperback will be presented as a gift to visiting international diplomats by Rashtrapathi Bhavan. Other prominent 200 women including Kiran Majumdar Shah, Mary Kom and Lata Mangeshkar also feature in the book, receiving the best honours.

After completing exactly two decades of her crowning as Miss Universe in 1994, definitely this is a great honour for Sushmitha Sen. To sum up, beauty will be seen through confidence, not just good looks and Sush is an example of that.
