Big B and Rajini attend Cannes film fest

Share
Megastars Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth will come together in a most unexpected way at the upcoming Cannes International Film Festival in May.

While Amitabh will represent his first Hollywood film “The Great Gatsby” in Cannes, Rajinikanth will be unveiling the trailer of his new film “Kochadaiyaan” at the fest. Murli Manohar, co-producer of the southern film, confirmed Rajinikanth’s presence in Cannes at the same time as the Big B.

“It’s a big moment in the history of Indian cinema. Rajiniji is as excited as a child about the way ‘Kochadaiyaan’ has turned out. Technique-wise it takes Indian cinema to another level altogether. Rajiniji has shown the rough cut of the film to his close friends. The other day, A.R. Rahman saw the rough cut and was blown away,” said Manohar. “Kochadaiyaan” will be finally completed July 15. The release date is to be decided by the end of May.

Apparently, Rajinikanth, 62, has been advised against long air travel. But he is in no mood to stop himself from making that long journey to Cannes, where the annual movie extravaganza begins May 15.

A source close to the project said: “He is adamant on going. He has become extremely frail. But whenever anyone mentions his delicate health to Rajiniji, he gives the example of Mr.Bachchan, who has braved the most serious illnesses and done exactly what he wanted and gone exactly where he wanted in his career.”

Lara flaunted diamonds by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers, while Chitrangada walked wearing designs by Hazoorilal Jewellers, and Yami sported bespoke pieces by Nazraana.  Nazraana created a special set for its show, with two jewellery boxes hanging from the roof. The show for Nazraana started with a ballet performance, followed by models sashaying down the ramp, posing in glittering diamond jewellery.

Yami of “Vicky Donor” fame looked glamorous in a bold black gown with a red belt, and she wore diamonds on her neck, ears and wrist. Asked about her favourite piece of jewellery, she said: “I am a big fan of solitaires. I love the collection by Nazraana, first of all because of its name, and then because they can be worn on any occasion. They are casual, yet stylish.”

Lara was seen in a royal show by Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas Jewellers. The former Miss Universe looked resplendent in a heavy neckpiece from the line, which was inspired by Jaipur’s famous Amer fort. Lara said she enjoys walking the ramp at jewellery events.

Jagan using jail as YSR Congress office, with the help of CM

Share
TDP politburo Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has said the comment of Finance Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy that the Chanchalguda jail had become the office of the YSR Congress had proved that their own allegations were correct.

In a statement here on Saturday, Yanamala said when they had several times in the past made the same allegation, it was denied stoutly. He said now as the statement of the Finance Minister proved their own charge, the Jail superintendent should be suspended. He has alleged that Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was controlling the Chanchalguda jail and using it as the office of the YSR Congress, only with the blessings of Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. He also demanded that action be taken against all other jail officials, who were responsible for the situation.

Yanamala faulted the Chief Minister for protecting the tainted ministers. Stating that the entire cabinet was composed by late Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, he said except one or two, all the ministers were totally corrupt. Referring to the Supreme Court notices to six ministers for issuing 26 controversial GOs, he said while one minister went to jail in Jagans illegal properties case, another was named 5th accused in the CBI charge-sheet. Now it was pathetic that Home Minister P. Sabita Indra Reddy was named fourth accused in the case. He questioned as to why Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy was hesitating, though Constitution gave him the authority to cleanse his cabinet. Stating all the irregularities committed by officials were now coming out, he said now even ministers were admitting them.

Jagan will go Gali way

Yanamala said Enforcement Directorates adjudicating authority had confirmed that Gali Janardana Reddy diverted Rs 883 crores he earned through illegal mining as investments and had allowed attachments. He said Gali diverted the illegal income through RR Global into Jagans Jagati Publications.

Stating that Gali and Jagan were two faces of the same corruption, Yanamala said people were observing everything. Reminding Jagan that Gali Janardana Reddys NBSR Congress was taught a lesson by the people by defeating it in the Bellary elections, including Galis own ward, Yanamala said the same fate would be meted out to Y S Jaganmohan Reddy of the YSR Congress.

Getting mixed response for Sabitha

Share
The issues of Home Minister P sabitha indra reddy are getting mixed response from the Congress circles as well. While Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and a couple of ministers have expressed their solidarity with Sabitha a few from the Congress fold wants her to quit.

Union minister Sarve Satyanarayana is latest to join the bandwagon to criticize her. However, he rendered it in a soft voice and advised her to quit. I leave it to her to take a final decision, was his diplomatic statement. Former minister JC Diwakar Reddy said that the chief minister should take a decision whether she should continue in the cabinet or not. Naming ministers in the charge sheet has been a bolt for the Congress party and it is better if the Congress ministers take responsibility for signing the files, he said.

It is not fair to say that YSR has influenced the minister to sign. On one issue I refused to sign a file, he recalled.

The opposition parties are seeking the resignation of the Home Minister.

No sympathy on Anjali for silly decisions

Share
Ever since the missing of anjali, some of the media sources as usually started telecasting programs on women and the wear and tear being faced by them in the society.   But in reality, the situation appears to be different in the case of anjali. By escaping all of a sudden, she has troubled her near and dear, the police department and last but not the least the producers, who invested big bucks on her. Their shooting schedules have been disturbed badly. Moreover, the way her telephonic conversation with her brother appears to be rude and arrogant. “She would have taken alternative measures if her pinni and babai troubled her,” opined her well wishers. Hope, no heroine in future will take these kind of silly decisions and hope they develop a right kind of attitude.

Meanwhile, ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’, that was enacted by anjali as Sita, went on blockbuster this year. Her new movie ‘Crazy’ was released on the day of Ugadi and got mixed responses from the audiences.

First RGV and Next Allari Naresh

Well, do not take it too personal in this comparison. The issue here is about 3D posters used for publicity of 3D movies. Firstly, Ramgopal Varma released the 3D poster of ‘Bhoot Returns’ which was literally a headaching experience to see the poster. Now, Allari Naresh’s ‘action 3d’ flick has got its first 3D poster released on media and this one is also equally and highly painful.

Generally, the depth perception of a 3D picture can be enjoyed only with special lens which we use in theatres while watching a 3D film. When it comes to 3D posters on net or newspapers, the same effect cannot be felt but in turn, audience get confused on what is it the director or producer is willing to explain us. Trial with ‘action 3d’ is also the same. Let us see, how will be the movie once it releases in theatres soon.

Mahesh Glamor Vs Six Pack!

Share
Sukumar rightly compared mahesh babu with a ‘Full Moon’ (Nindu Chandamama) because his glowing shiny face resembles the attractiveness in a moon. Any small correction to the facial dimensions of Mahesh might deter his actual following thus giving a chance for critics. However, his recent appearance at ‘Prema Katha Chithram’ audio release has a special point to mention.

Those who have watched mahesh babu from very close have witnessed a drop in his chin or say complete facial look. Well, it could be due to heavy physical workouts (for building six packs) done as preparation for action episodes in Sukumar’s film. Even, Mahesh agreed of having undergone rigorous physical strain in guidance of a trainer. Facial muscles usually shrink when actors work for broad shoulders and muscle in their arms or triceps. Wish that, mahesh babu will understand how much his face values for Fans?
