“Himmatwala” has earned Rs.31.14 crore in the opening weekend and with the film’s success director Sajid Khan’s prediction has come true.

Before the release of the film, he had said: “I don’t read reviews. I do not want any stars. Whenever critics pan my film, it does well at the box office.”

His previous box-office hits like “Heyy Babby”, “Housefull” and “Housefull 2” didn’t appeal to the critics, but they did roaring business at the ticket window.

The film collected Rs.12.14 crore on Friday, Rs.8.5 crore on Saturday and Rs.10.5 crore on Sunday making the total collection Rs.31.14 crore, said a statement.

The film is a modern version of the 1983 release “Himmatwala” with Ajay Devgn and Tamannaah in the lead roles.The drama, stunts and masala in the movie seemed to have clicked with the audience.

Anant Verma, director and business head, DT Cinemas, said the film is doing well for itself. “The film is doing okay and has got decent occupancy. It is for the kind of audience, who want to go for the light fun movies. It has been marketed well,” Verma told and added that they are expecting good collection in the first week, “but expecting a dip in the second week.”

Sajid says he makes movies to entertain people and it seems once again that he has achieved success in doing so with “Himmatwala” . It is good news for producers Ronnie Screwvala and Vashu Bhagnani also.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan created a sensation with Gabbar Singh dialogue ‘Nakkonchem Tikkundi.. daaniko Lekkaundi’ which connected well not only with his fans but also all mass and class movie lovers.

Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar revealing the secret behind Tikka dialogue said that he prepared the dialogue during the film’s Pollachi schedule after which a teaser should be released in Hyd. However he was apprehensive whether Pawan will agree.

When he went into the Pawan’s caravan, Pawan after seeing the dialogue rolled down with laughter and asked how he thought of writing such dialogue for which he replied that there was misconception in general public which promoted him to write such dialogue.

Harish reveals that Pawan’s encouragement gave him confidence to pen dialogues like ‘nenu trend follow kanu. set chesta’,’nakevvaru poti kadu, naku nene poti’.

 

After a disappoint start to 2013 in Telugu with ‘Jabardasth’, Siddharth’s next ‘Chashme Baddoor’  is all set to hit screens on April 5th. Siddharth is starring in this comedy entertainer along with Ali Zafar, Divyendu Sharma, Taapsee Pannu, Rishi Kapoor in pivotal role and Juhi Chawla and Anupam Kher in guest roles. This David Dawan’s directorial venture is going to have a premiere show in Dubai. The entire team is heading to Dubai today for promotional tour on 3rd April organised by Dream Advertising Dubai. Siddharth too is on his way to Dubai. He tweeted: “Heading to Dubai to watch the premiere of ‘Chashme Baddoor’ with the whole gang. Super fun! Why? Kyun ki har ek friend Kamina hota hai!!”

This apart, Siddharth’s bilingual film Udhyamam NH4 (Tamil)/NH4 (Telugu) directed by Vetrimaaran is also getting ready for release in April. Lakshmi Ganapathy Films which delivered several dubbed films will release ‘NH4’ in Telugu.

Choreographer turned director Raghava Lawerence received a shock of his life today. He is in Tirupati for the darshan of Lord Balaji and came to the Temple during VIP Break darshan. Apparently, staff members pushed and shoved Lawrence around without respect. “Staff members behaved extremely rudely with me and they just dragged me away while I was trying to get a glimpse of the Lord. They are manhandling women and children as well, without any basic decency. If this is the plight of a celebrity, what is the situation of a common man? People come from far off places to get a glimpse of the Lord and this is not the way to treat them”, said Lawrence.

Lawerence’s last outing Rebel was a disaster at the box office. He is currently shooting for Muni-3 with Tapsee as the female lead. He had pinned high hopes on this movie to be back in to winning ways.

The combination of Kona Venkat and Srinu Vaitla had yielded several hit movies in the past with Dookudu being the recent one. And now they are working together for NTR’s Baadshah. But looks like it is not cooking well between them. Few days ago, Kona complained about his name missing on Baadshah posters but he quickly covered up saying it was the mistake of the publicity designer. And later the series of tweets by Kona, Gopi Mohan and Roopa Vaitla further added up to the suspicions.

And now comes the real scenario. Kona Venkat missed the Hexa Platinum disk function of Baadshah on Sunday even though he is in the city.He even went on to mention that he had met Pawan Kalyan that morning. Lets see if this affects Baadshah anyways.

 

Allu scion Sirish is all set to make his filmy debut with Radha Mohan’s directorial, Gauravam. The actor made few interesting comments regarding his name in micro blogging site, Twitter. He prefers the name Sirish and he has asked the media not to use his surname Allu when referring to him.

“When Dad turned Producer there were many Arvinds in the industry already. When Bunny became an Actor there was another popular actor by same name. Hence they became Allu Arvind & Allu Arjun. My legal name remains Sirish Allu but like most actors I prefer being referred just by name. I request media to refer me just as Sirish henceforth. My name is #Gauravam titles also reads the same. Thank you”, he posted.

Young Tiger NTR’s ‘Baadshah’ has completed the formal censor screening and received a U/A certificate from the board. The movie is now on track for a grand release on April 5th with a record number of prints. The movie reportedly is a laughing riot and is expected to reap big this summer. Producer Bandla Ganesh is leaving no stone unturned to make the film a massive hit.

Kajal Agarwal is playing the female lead in the movie while Navdeep and Kelly Dorjee will be seen in negative roles in this action entertainer.  Gopi Mohan and Kona Venkat are writing the script along with Sreenu Vaitla. Thaman is composing the music.
