Workshop on filmmaking at Annapurna school
Annapurna International School of Film and Media will conduct a four-week summer workshop on filmmaking for engineering students, beginning May 27, the institution said Tuesday.
The workshop involves working in teams to develop stories and to produce films. This process enables students to gain experience in the soft skills that are sought by employers.
The workshop covers script writing, basic camera operations, editing and sound mixing, with a focus on teamwork and creativity, said a statement by the school run by the family of legendary Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
“For many engineering students, the focus on technical studies and preparing for exams can squeeze out any time for creative endeavors. That’s why we have scheduled this workshop in the summer holidays, so that students can build their communication skills without impacting their studies,” said AIFSM president and popular Telugu actor Akkineni Nagarjuna.
The need for such a workshop was felt as most students lack verbal and written communication skills, creativity, and teamwork and etiquette, he said.
“I believe that schools like ours can help by assisting the students with the hands-on teamwork experience that is missed in our schools and universities. Also, soft skills are characteristics that make us more likable and help with making new friends,” Nagarjuna added.
TRS took Rs. 10 crore from Nimmagadda Prasad.
TRS expelled leader Raghunandan told the media that he met the CBI JD Lakshmi Narayana and handed over the evidences he had against the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and MLA Harish Rao to him.
Speaking to the media later, Raghunandan alleged that TRS top leaders took Rs. 10 crore from the jailed industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad. He charged that KCR and Harish Rao managed the business affairs of Nimmagadda Prasad and Koneru Ranga Rao. He said if the two were interrogated in the jail, all the facts would come out. He said he gave a written request for investigation into the illegal collections of the TRS. He said the JD assured that he would discuss with legal experts and get back to him.
It may be recalled that Raghu Nandan made charges that the TRS chief KCR and his nephew Harish Rao were taking kickbacks, mortgaging the Telangana movement. He charged that Harish took Rs. 80 lakhs from the management of the Padmalaya Studios, for remaining silent on their land scam. He also alleged that the kickbacks deal was struck at the residence of TRS MP Vijaya Santi, in her husband’s presence. A day later, Raghunandan met the DGP Dinesh Reddy and complained that his life was under threat.
Is Congress not interested in carving Telangana
Is the Congress party not interested in carving out separate Telangana State? It may sound awkward, but PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana’s words clearly indicated that the Congress party was not interested in dividing Andhra Pradesh.
In an interview to the media here on Tuesday at Gandhi Bhavan, Botcha said the party would not force the Telangana Congress MPs to stay with the party as the latter were not interested in the party’s ideals and thoughts. One has to think between the lines of PCC Chief Botcha’s statement that the T MPs were not interested in party ideals means the party was not interested to create separate Telangana?
The Telangana MPs never opposed Congress high command or some one else and they were only demanding the party high command to carve out separate Telangana State. They also put the deadline to the party that they would take a decision on their political future if the Congress party failed to take a decision on Telangana issue. Here every one gets a doubt that what are Congress party’s ‘ideals’ on Telangana issue and why the PCC Chief said the T MPs were not interested in party ‘ideals’ and ‘thoughts’.
Political analysts say the words ‘ideals’ and ‘thoughts’ mean there was no carving out of separate Telangana State. Congress party ‘thoughts’ means adopting dealing tactics on Telangana issue only.
Mahesh and Ram Charan face to face battle
With repeated change of release dates due to the delay in shoot, finally, it appears Prince Mahesh Babu and director Sukumar’s movie would be releasing for Pongal, 2014 for sure. On the other side, Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s new movie in the direction of Koratala Siva will go to floors in the month of June. Since Ram Charan has no more commitments other than this project and with the completion of ‘Zanjeer’ and ‘Yevadu’ movies’ shoots, the new film of Ram Charan is being planned to release for Pongal, 2014. The working title of this movie would be ‘top lechipoddi’. Likely, Mahesh and Ram Charan will have face to face battle for Pongal,2014.
Incidentally, this year’s Pongal witnessed the releases releases of ‘Naayak’ and ‘Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’. Though both the movies turned to be blockbusters, being a solo hero and slightly better collections than ‘SVSC’ Ram Charan got an edge over Mahesh. In this scenario, both the heroes will have tough fight yet again. But then, who gets victory? Hope, both will do it.
Now Lakshmi Prasanna eyes on Production
Lakshmi Prasanna is the lone girl from Manchu family balancing her job both as a producer and then as an actor. In fact, it was first TV show bought her to immense recognition and then on Lakshmi grew in demand. Apparently, her performance in ‘Gundello Godari’ released few months ago is rated as award winning by critics. However, the movie wasn’t commercial success. Now, Lakshmi seems to be giving a lot of concentration on production activities of their home banners.
There is Manchu multi star flick and few more in pipeline for this year. On the other side, we have even heard about Lakshmi bagged a role in Hollywood flick which will also release with in this year. Coming to Telugu films, she is taking a break from acting to make few of their home banner products commercially hit the BO.

Harish Shankar is an expert in elevating the real off screen character of his heroes on screen by mixing some knack dialogue punches. It was earlier seen in ‘Gabbar Singh’ when Pawan Kalyan says, ‘Nenu Trend Follow Avanu Set Chesthanu’ or ‘Naakkonchem Thikkundi Daaniko Lekkundi’ or ‘Naaku Nene Potee…Naathoni Naake Potee.’ Now, Harish is repeating the same technique even for Jr NTR and the teaser dialogue in ‘ramayya vastavayya’ says it all.
Yes, the powerful punch of ‘Buddodu’ and ‘Guddaloodadesi Kodatha’ as seen in yesterday’s teaser is opined to have some sort of indirect attack on a section of media and anti Fans who made fun of Tarak some time ago telecasting programs with the names of ‘Pilla Kaaki’ and repeatedly addressing him as ‘Buddodu.’ At that time, Harish got the idea of cashing on the situation and the dialogue we see today is a repercussion of what happened on those days. Hopefully, NTR settles many more accounts once ‘ramayya vastavayya’ hits the screens on Sep 27th.
‘Top Lechipoddi’ is not for cherry
Having been inspired by ‘Top Lechipoddi’ song from ‘iddarammayilatho’, producer Bandla Ganesh Babu registered the title ‘Top Lechipoddi’ at the film chamber some time ago. There after, everybody started speculating that the title was registered for Mega Power Star ram charan and Koratala Siva combo’s movie which is to be produced by Bandla Ganesh Babu. However, it is learnt that the title has not been registered for ram charan-Koratala film and the title would be revealed when the movie is launched.
Meanwhile, ram charan’s ‘Zanjeer’ was wrapped up some days ago while his ‘Yevadu’ is in the last leg of its shoot. Both the movies are expected to hit screens in the months of July and August.
‘Baadshah’ collection at the end

Aagadu script work in US!
Mahesh Babu and director Srinu Vaitla’s Aagadu may commence its regular shoot from August. As Mahesh Babu is currently busy with director Sukumar’s film, he wants to shift to the shooting of Aagadu from August only. Srinu Vaitla is currently in US and he will be finishing the script work of the movie there.
Aagadu will have formal launch shortly but the regular shoot will commence in August, as per our sources. Director Srinu Vaitla is planning to make the movie very entertaining like Dookudu, his previous blockbuster with Mahesh Babu. Heroine is yet to be finalized for this film.
Balupu audio to be a glittering affair!
Shooting of Ravi Teja starrer Balupu is coming to an end and the movie will hit the screens towards the end of June. The film’s music album will be unveiled at a glittering ceremony that is to be held at HICC in Hyderabad on June 1st. Thaman is scoring the music for the film. The combination of Ravi Teja and Taman is considered as one of the best actor-music director combinations in Tollywood. They have hits like Kick and Mirapakaya to their credit.
The movie is directed by Gopichand Mallineni who earlier directed Don Seenu with Ravi Teja and Bodyguard with Venkatesh. Ravi Teja will be seen romancing Shruti Hassan in the movie. Anjali is one more heroine. The movie is being produced by Prasad V. Potluri under PVP cinemas banner.
