Sridevi is intersted in Nani’s ‘Paisa’
Latest in news in the South Indian film world is that there is a war going on for the remake rights of Krishna Vamsi’s latest flick with Nani, ‘Paisa’ in Tollywood right now. If the rumours are to be believed, legendary actress Sridevi who has been known to buy films for her husband and friends in Bollywood is bent on buying the rights of ‘Paisa’ for her husband, Boney Kapoor. Boney want to remake the film in Hindi for none other than his young actor son Arjun Kapoor.
On the other hand is actor Shahid Kappor who is another competitor for the film rights. Shahid wants to produce the film himself and start a production house of his own as the trends seem to dictate in Bollywood these days. It however remains to be seen which party comes down harder on this issue of buying rights to this political satire film based on the theme of money laundering.

Threatening calls to Anjali’s aunt
Heroine Anjali’s aunt Bharati Devi complained to the Chennai police that she was getting calls threatening to kill her. He sought protection.
Earlier Bharati Devi told the media about the threatening calls. She said some one was asking her to leave Chennai if she wants to be alive. The caller was talking in Tamil and even started making calls to her husband and son, when she switched off her phone, she said.
Lokesh plunge into active politics.
TDP chief Chandra Babu Naidu’s son Lokesh earned himself name as Twitter Lokesh as he is the man who has been using Twitter most for making his ideas known to the people.
Now there are twitter posts that he would come into active politics from June. According to party sources, Lokesh’s wife Brahmani (Bala Krishna’s daughter) would be completing her education by June and return to India. It is being said that she would be given the responsibility of Heritage and Lokesh would plunge into active politics.
Chandra Babu Naidu who has been making a separate declaration for every section of the society, is going to make a youth declaration, announcing the measures “his government” would undertake for the youth. It is learnt that Lokesh would be entrusted the job of taking this declaration into the youth.
Resignation of Konda group
Konda Surekha and her husband Murali are unable to digest the suspension of four of their supporters by the YSR Congress leadership without even saying a word to them. They are hurt that they were being dealt a raw deal, despite their being the first to support the family of Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy after his tragic death.
Followers of the couple are seething with anger at the way they were being treated by the party which chose to give important positions to new entrants like the TV anchor Rani Rudrama Devi. It is learnt that there would be mass resignations of the followers of the Konda couple. YSR Congress district convener Srinivasa Reddy would be the first to leave, say sources.
Srinivasa Reddy met Konda Murali Friday morning and reportedly expressed anguish that even he was not informed of the suspension of four important functionaries of the district. It may be recalled that four followers of the Konda couple were suspended from the party for locking up the party office recently, in protest against the importance being given to new entrants.
The meeting of Srinivasa Reddy with Murali attained importance in this backdrop. It is being said that though Murali counseled him to wait for some more time so that they could all take a decision, he is unlikely to listen. He may announce his decision to quit the party, say sources.
Meanwhile, Konda couple has been seriously studying the offer given by the BJP to join the party. BJP state president Kishan Reddy spoke to Surekha and invited her and her husband into the party. It is learnt that Kishan Reddy offered them seats of their choice as well as district leadership of the party.
Why is Jagan angry?
It is learnt that Jagan was also angry with the Konda couple. It is being said that Jagan who gave total control to the Konda couple as he was grateful to them for leaving their positions and the ruling party, was hurt by their highhanded attitude. Jagan reportedly received complaints that Surekha and her husband have been acting as they were a power unto themselves. They were not caring for anyone in the party excepting Vijayamma, said sources. It is also learnt that they imposed a condition that none in the party should interfere with the district affairs. When their followers finally locked up the district office, Jagan’s patience was worn out, say sources. It is in this context that he reportedly instructed party leaders to enforce discipline.
Though YSR Congress leaders have been stating that the Konda couple was not unhappy, the two had not come into the open and made their minds clear so far. It is being said that they had decided to leave the party. Which party to join is the question the two were now considering as they have invitations both from the Congress and the BJP. Even the Congress is reportedly feeling that Konda Surekha was a strong leader and would be useful for the party in the next elections.
Jagan would not get bail until he merged his party in Congress
Y S Bharati, wife of the jailed YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, has alleged that the cases registered against her husband were politically motivated.
Talking to the English channel NDTV, she said it was the aim of the CBI to keep Jagan in jail as long as possible and even a small kid knew it.
Recalling that the agency has been investigating the case for the last 21 months, Bharati said when Jagan filed bail petition in October, CBI asked for 3 more months of time. Now, 8 months had passed and the agency was asking for 4 more months. She also pointed at the CBI counsel’s talk soon after the court’s verdict that they might ask for extension of even that time. She said these words themselves show that the agency had no intention of concluding the case in the near future. Alleging that there was no progress at all in the investigation, Bharati reminded about the statement of the union minister Kotla Surya Prakasha Reddy that Jagan would not get bail until he merged his party in Congress.
She also recollected how another senior union minister Ghulam Nabi Azad also said that Jagan would not have faced all these cases if he remained in the Congress. Stating that people knew that all the cases against Jagan were false, she said whenever elections were held, people would teach them a fitting lesson. Alleging that Congress influences the CBI, she said this was evident from the way the agency handled the DMK, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayavati and Yeddyurappa alliance.
Speaking on the charges of allying with the UPA, she questioned why Jagan would be in jail if there was such an agreement. She said they would keep the national interests in view in the next elections. She lamented that those who issued GOs and were responsible for the irregularities were moving about freely, while Jagan who was no way connected to the GOs, was sent to jail.

Bol Bachchan remake is Garam Masala!
Earlier Bol Bachchan remake is rumoured to be titled as ‘Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu’ but the makers have declined it. Now yet another spicy title is in the cards for the remake of ‘Bol Bachchan’ movie starring Venkatesh and Ram. ‘Garam Masala’ is the title being considered by the makers of the film. However a final call is yet to be made on this. Recently the unit has completed Pune schedule is gearing up for next schedule of shooting. This schedule will start from 16th of this month in Ramoji Film City.
Shazahn Padamsee is pairing up with Ram and Anjali is pairing up with Venkatesh. Vijaya Bhaskar who delivered blockbuster movies like Nuvvekavali and Mallishwari fame will be wielding the megaphone for this project. Sravanthi Ravikishore will be producing the movie under his Sri Sravanthi movies banner.
Setback for Sanjay Dutt!
The Supreme Court today rejected Bollywood star actor Sanjay Dutt’s review petition in Mumbai bomb blasts case. The court has also ordered Mr. Dutt to surrender before May 15th. Mr Dutt was convicted for illegal possession of weapons during serial blasts in 1993. The 53-year-old filmstar has already spent about 18 months in jail and has to serve for the remaining three and a half years more.
In April, the court had dismissed Dutt’s appeal that he be given six more months to surrender before court to let him finish pending films. But the court gave him only one month extra to wrap up his work. Looks like Sanjay is seriously running short of time and have to wrap up the pending projects as early as possible and surrender before the court on May 15th.
Venky’s Mookie movie sounds interesting
Victory Venkatesh is all set to restart the trend of mookie movies in Telugu with his next. Pilla Jamindar fame Ashok will be wielding megaphone for this movie. Speaking on the occasion Ashok said “I have prepared this storyline 3 years ago and narrated it to Venkatesh. But he was not impressed then. When I narrated the complete story, he was excited and immediately gave a nod. This movie will have neither dialogues nor songs. But it’s not a silent film.”
Suresh Productions have recently completed 50 years and in the eve of this, they will be producing the film. They want to make the film with world cinema flavor and are aiming for Cannes Film Festival next year. “Currently the pre-production work is going on. We need to coin the film. The runtime of the film will be of 1 hour and 15 minutes. The story is original in concept and is not inspired by any movie. We are considering Bollywood actor Boman Irani and Tabu for vital roles. There are 12 important characters in the film and casting of them is also in progress,” added Ashok.

Story
Sukumar (Aadi) is a NRI working for a US company who gives much preference to money and is selfish by nature. To start his own firm, he needs hefty amount and at this point of time, he comes to know that his family who lives in a village has a property worth 150Crores. He immediately flies to the village on a plan to sell the property and invest in the bank to commence his dream project. He meets his grandmother Vandanamma (Sharada) uncle Rao Ramesh and falls in love with Sankari (Nisha Aggarwal). Will Sukumar succeed in his plan or changes his nature forms the rest of the story.
Performances
Aadi once again proves that he is a great dancer and he is good at action sequences but he needs to work on emotional scenes and comic timing.
Nisha Agarwal is beautiful especially in the songs, but her pairing with Aadi misses the mark in the film.
Super Star Krishna is brief but delivers a decent performance and actress Sharada is an asset for the movie. The film had many artists like MS Narayana, Raghu Babu, Dhanraj, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Thagubothu Ramesh but the comedy didn’t work much and they are wasted in poor roles.
Technical Analyis
Cinematography is fine while Anup Rubens musical scores are a decent. The background score is loud at times. Editing is pathetic with no consistency. Dialogues hardly impress. Ashok Kumar’s direction is bad and screenplay looked illogical. Production values are not upto the mark.
Analysis
Director Ashok has come up with a routine story, it could have been quite different had the director incorporated gripping screenplay, instead it was terrible. Logic has gone for toss big time and the flow is inconsistent with few scenes appearing from nowhere. With too many supporting actors neither of them had interesting roles and poor writing clearly plays the spoilsport. Even the romantic scenes between the leads never worked and misplaced songs irritate even more. The interval twist is a bit interesting and makes the audiences look for some entertainment in store but the same predictable and too many melodrama scenes make the proceedings worse. The run length is almost 3 hours with none of the interesting scenes in the scenes, the viewers go restless. Besides very few scenes, Sukumarudu looked dull.
Final Verdict
Routine story and poor executions makes Sukumarudu a painful watch!!!
Kochadaiyaan in July!
Rajnikanth’s forthcoming film ‘Kochadaiyaan’ is gearing for July release. This film’s post production work nears completion and makers are putting efforts to release the film in the first week of July. The Telugu version is titled has ‘Vikramsimha’. Also the makers of the film are planning to release the trailer in Cannes Film Festival. This is set to be India’s first motion capture film and Rajni will be seen in dual role as father and son.
While Shobana is cast opposite Rajini for one role, Deepika Padukone is the love interest of younger version of Rajinikanth. The film is being directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya. “Apart from pulsating stunt scenes, Rajini will be seen in mesmerizing dance sequences too,” said Soundarya. A.R.Rehman has composed the music.
This is the first 3D film in India that has used the performance capture technology.
