Manochitra is back after two years in a new avatar
Southern actress Manochitra is making a come-back after two years in a new avatar and says she gave herself a makeover to convince fillmakers that she can play urban characters too. A Tamilian from Kancheepuram, Manochitra, who rose to fame with her performance in debut Tamil drama “Aval Peyar Thamizharasi”, is keen to essay city-based characters.
“Ever since I played a village belle in my debut, I have been only getting such offers and I declined most of them. I even decided to quit movies at one point because I was only looked at as someone capable of playing only rural characters,” said the actress, fondly called Mano.
“I have returned to acting after two years’ break. I lost 13 kg and look presentable to convince that I can play urban characters as well. Thankfully, I play a city-bred character in my upcoming films, including the film with Ajith Kumar sir,” she added.
“I shot for 10 days with Ajith sir and rest of the crew. Since I was cast opposite a star, I was extremely nervous. But, everything changed after he started treating me as a family member. He was polite, humble and very down to earth,” Mano told.
“I believe it’s very important to feel comfortable around your co-star and comfort comes only when the effort is taken by co-stars. It was just a matter of time before I started feeling extremely comfortable on the sets of the film,” she added.
She is not paired opposite Ajith in the film, but shares a few scenes with him.
Case registered against the Vangaveeti Radha Krishna
A case has been registered against the YSR Congress leader Vangaveeti Radha Krishna here on Monday. Police registered the case, on a complaint from one Ananda Rao of Krishna district.
On a complaint of Ananda Rao that Vangaveeti Radha Krishna detained him and brought pressure to withdraw a case filed in the high court, Satyanarayanapuram police booked cases under sections 342 and 506.
Vangaveeti Radha Krishna who plays a key role in Krishna district politics, joined the ysr Congress after Y S Jaganmohan Reddy launched the party. In 2008, he joined the PRP of Chiranjeevi. He contested in the 2009 general elections and was defeated. After PRP was merged in the Congress, Radha chose to join the YSRCP. It may be reclled that he was in the centre of a flexi controversy using the pictures of Jr. NTR along with those of YSR and Jagan when Sharmila toured the district.
Dadi moved to YSRCP, Kadiyam moved to TRS
Even as the TDP Chief Chandra Babu Naidu completed a 2,800 km marathon pada yatra and has been turning complacent that he had strengthened the party, he appears to be losing several senior leaders. While one is Dadi Veerabhadra Rao who acted efficiently as the opposition leader in the Legislative council and the other is former minister Kadiyam Srihari.
Both are members of the politburo, the highest policy making body of the party. The two and another member Hari Krishna had recently abstained from the public meeting of Naidu at Vizag on the conclusion of his pada yatra.
Kadiyam Srihari has been unhappy about Naidu’s stand on Telangana and has been away from party activities since quite some time. Recently another senior leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu started suffocating Kadiyam with verbal attack. It is learnt that Kadiyam made up his mind to join the TRS. Already Karimnagar TDP MLA Gangula Kamalakar joined the TRS. It is learnt that former minister P Chandrasekhar is also planning to join the rose brigade. While Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy already joined the TRS, Telangana leaders Venugopala Chary, Jogu Ramanna, Nagam Janardana Reddy and Hariswar Reddy had already come out of the TDP.
In the north coastal region, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao is also unhappy with the way he was denied re-nomination to the legislative council. He was hurt that Naidu had not even formally informed him about not being nominated to the council. He is learnt to be hobnobbing with the YSRCP for his own political career.
