AP political scenario may be volatile and there may be lack of infrastructure and basic facilities in many departments. However some precociously talented few are bringing glory to Andhra Pradesh turning torch bearers for the state at the world’s greatest sporting arena ‘The Olympics’ at London. Though the performance of Indian Sportspersons doesn’t bring any cheer to the Country and millions of people, sports persons like Gagan Narang, Saina Nehwal, Jwala Gutta and Parupalli Kashyap did Country proud with their performance.
Gagan Narag shot bronze in shooting where Golden boy Abhinav Bindra from 2008 Olympics unfortunately failed to qualify to the finals. Saina Nehwal reached the semis of Badmintion and she has got all that in her to gun for gold. Parupalli Kashyap may have lost in quarters but he in reaching there created a record to become the first Indian to do so and in the process defeated high ranking opponents shocking badmintion fraternity.
Jwala Gutta was unfortunate not to make it to the next round in women’s doubles in badminton but it was not due to lack of performance but due to Japanese players losing their math to Chinese Taipe. Sania Mirza along with Paes reached the quarters of mixed doubles in Tennis. One must salute this people, who are pride of Andhra Pradesh who in-spite of lack of proper infrastructure and facilities matched the world’s best talent.

Missing mesmerising melodies Telugu Films ?

Movie lovers of yesteryear were treated to some delightful unforgettable music and many hit songs of 60s-80s still sooth and assuage the feelings of many when they are down and depressed and look for inspiration or cool their tempers when they are red with rage. Whether it is patriotic songs like ‘Telugu Veera Levara’, ‘Naa Janma Bhumi’, ‘Punya Bhumi Na Desam’ or inspirational songs ‘Krushi Unte’, ‘Kala Kaanidi’, ‘Lechindi Mahila Lokam’ or romantic songs ‘Naa Hryudayam lo’, ‘Nannu Dochukunduvate’, ‘Eto Velli Poindi manasu’, ‘Chupulu Kalasina’ no one can forget them, and when they are played people cutting across all age groups are drawn towards them however hard they try to oppose them. Many may be surprised to know that the song ‘Kala Kaanidi’ changed the minds of many who thought of ending their lives committing suicide. They later became highly successful in life.
In present generation though we have many successful music directors movie lovers are aghast that evergreen hits are not coming from their instruments. Barring Ilayaraja and AR.Rahman who came with ‘Vandemataram’, hits can be counted on fingers unlike yesteryears where innumerable hits were present. Mass beats like ‘Aa Ante Amalapuram’, ‘Poove Poove’ or ‘Kevvu Keka’ may give the required kick and entertainment for 3-4 minutes during that time. But when another mass number comes, it will take back seat. Music lovers hope things will change for better in the coming days.

is YSR Legacy wiped out?

Share
For long many powerful political parties tried to erase and wipe out late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS.Rajasekhar Reddy’s legacy from prints and electronic media. They felt that once his photos and name is done away with, schemes renamed, people will be erasing his name from their hearts and minds. THe ruling Congress Party which never allows to grow a leader beyond a certain level, tried to wipe him after his untimely death. It used all means, used wild allegations of corruption, leveled charges of quid pro quo conveniently distancing its ministers present in YSR’s cabinet from all his decisions. It even went to the extent of colluding with main opposition parties and others to change public opinion.
However much to the surprise of even experienced political analysts, YSR’s image and legacy forget about getting wiped out, is doubling like a phoenix. People, especially poor and downtrodden are unable to forget his schemes through which atleast one or two members of their family benefited. To the top of it, doing away with fees reimbursements, increasing powercuts, rise in kerosene, petrol and gas prices, rise in essential commodities, renaming of schemes introduced by YSR has not gone down well with the public. To the top of it all, the ill treatment meted out by the party to YSR family members made them red with anger.
Now top and experienced leaders of Congress Party are left wondering how to come to the terms of YSR’s legacy which has now become a ‘Brand’ and tackle it while opposition parties allege Congress colluding with YSR party.

‘Power’ wars during Power Cuts in AP!

Share
The state of Andhra Pradesh, which is renowned as rice bowl of entire India is now reeling under power cuts. State of Andhra Pradesh which once used to supply power to their counterparts became so deplete of power that it started imposing power cuts. Though people of AP got used to power cuts in summer, this year they were in a shock as power cuts increased even at the start of rainy seasons. While the capital city of Hyderabad are treated to 3yrs of power cuts, villages are presented with 10 hrs of power cut. One wonder what answers the rulers of the state have to give to the farmers.
Farmers are at their wits end as to how to go ahead with farming. This time the state govt treated even entrepreneurs with utter disdain announcing power holiday two days a week. Many industries are on the verge of shutting down. When Govt is embroiled with all the problems and mainly power cuts, rulers are busy with their own ‘Power’ wars. All small and big leaders and self proclaiming leaders became Chief Minister aspirants and none started caring the Chief Minister.
Though people taught the ruling party by defeating in each and every by elections after it came to power during these 4yrs they are averse to take any corrective measures. It has to be seen what lesson and shocks people are going to present the ruling Congress Party during the next general elections.

Why Tirumala different from Vatican ?

Share
Many across the word equate holy shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, India to that of renowned Vatican Church in Italy. In terms of revenue and devotees thronging the shrines, Tirumala outscores Vatican in all aspects. However Tirumala is completely different from Vatican. While the Pope, revered across the globe by Christians has complete say in the State and religious matters along with the operations of Vatican Church, Tirumala is completely different. Right from top to bottom, TTD which oversees the temple functioning and other activities taken by the shrine functions according to the whims and fancies of the Govt with Hindu revered saints and groups not having any say what soever in the operations.
While Vatican prohibits non Christians and non believers entering its premises and tamper its activities, devotees and hindus will always be taken for a ride by the governing authorities and Govt ruling the state, with eye on vote banks. Non believers will have a field day everyday and even if anyone questions them, no action will be taken on them. Hurting the sentiments and beliefs of millions of devotees, the rulers try to dilute the temple authority over seven hills disturbing the sanctity of the place.Apart from the all the revenue generated by the devotees and staunch believers of Lord Venkateswara will be mercilessly used for Govt activities and others purposes which is not the case in Vatican. This calls for awakening in devotees who should voice their strongest possible views and opposition and get united driving home the point in a united fashion to protect Seven Hills and Sanctity of Tirumala.

Why Magadheera can not be compared with others ?

Share

When Mega Power Star Ram Charan starred in Rajamouli directed ‘Magadheera’ little did he imagine that the film would rewrite all existing tollywood records and stand tall in the industry. Later many film makers tried to recreate the magic of Magadheera with their own creativity, but they failed in their quest for miracles. Even many top heroes tried to impress upon directors to come with stories similar to Magadheera thinking that they will appeal to movie lovers. However even those failed to attract leave alone general public but even their fans. Those who burnt their fingers include Young Tiger NTR with ‘Sakthi’ and prior to that Stylish Star Allu Arjun with ‘Badrinath’.
Recently Prince Mahesh Babu came quite close to beating ‘Magadheera’ with ‘Dookudu’ before the film lost its steam. Similar was the case with Power Star who created a sensation with remake of bollywood hit film ‘Dabaang’. Gabbar Singh stunned all with its success inspite of being a remake and just when it seemed that the film will overtake ‘Magadheera’, ‘Eega’ entered in between to stall its progress. Rajamouli himself planned to overtake his own making Magadheera with tiny creature ‘Eega’ but lack of star value is proving enormous for ‘Eega’ to overfly the ‘Magadheera’ mountain.
Some wonder what is the magic of Magadheera and what other films like ‘Dookudu’, ‘Gabbar Singh’ and ‘Eega’ lacks. When Magadheera came Ram Charan was relatively new and there were no expectations on him and he stunned all with his electrifying performance. The storyline included romance, love, change of times from royal kings to rocking people which appealed to all. Two fights stood out in the film. One competition to win the hand of Princess Mitravinda and another where Magadheera kills 1000 warriors. All this generated interest which was taken to new levels by Rajamouli’s direction.
While ‘Dookudu’, ‘Gabbar Singh’ had high entertainment elements, lack of action and gripping scenes undid the films. ‘Eega’ had all elements in equal quarters, but some felt, love and romance was quite short. Lack of renowned stars stalled its flight to new horizons.

No Telangana Before 2014 ?

Share

Union Home Minister Chidambaram is a hard nut to crack. AP journalists in Delhi keep trying to crack him on the Telangana issue. He keeps giving the same answer untiringly again and again. Some major parties including the Congress have yet to clarify their stand on the Telangana issue. This is his stock answer.

He has put forth another strange aspect that home ministry is not a party to the issue. What does it mean? Is home ministry not part of the central government?
Chidambaram said it was for the government to take a decision. When it took the decision, home ministry was bound to implement it, he clarified. As per Chidambaram’s statement, YSR Congress, Congress and TDP were among the major parties that were yet to clarify their stand.
But the strange thing is that the home ministry has not asked any of these parties to clarify their stand. Excepting his media statements, Chidambaram or his ministry never wrote letters to any of these parties to urgently state their stand, as decision on the important issue was pending. Chidambaram also made no efforts to convene an all-party meeting to discuss the Telangana issue. All he has done so far was blaming some parties for centre’s inaction. Now he is even absolving his own ministry for its inaction. He says his ministry has nothing to do with the Telangana problem or the decision on it. If a decision is taken, we will implement it, he is saying.
What a great way to tackle a major problem!Indications now make it clear that there would be no Telangana before the 2014 elections. Even the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao is stating that his party would settle the issue with the people in 2014.
So it is going to be a long wait until 2014?

Many are casting doubts on sources of their funds considering huge costs involved in film making and similarly the risks associated with it. Most of the films in tollywood film industry are produced by giants like RR Movie Makers and recently Reliance and UTV motion pictures entered the arena. The remaining 90% of the top heroes films are produced by Dil Raju who even owns theaters across Nizam, Bandla Ganesh who says he is getting his funds from real estate and poultry business and Bellamkonda Suresh.
Even though these people suffered some huge losses, they struck back and each ot these top film makers have minimum of five projects in hand. When Gabbar Singh became sensational hit, many raised questions on Bandla Ganesh’s source of income and some even accused him of being APPCC’s chief Botsa Satyanarayana. Now tollywood film makers stopped revealing their profits for the fear of attracting IT department’s attention. and thus invite raids on them. This happened during ‘Dookudu’ and later for ‘Business Man’ film makers. Whatever may be the statements of the film makers there are many uncleared doubts in the minds of movie lovers who say Film Making is a Mystery!
