Naga Vamshi Responds to Criticism on Funky Release

Producer Naga Vamshi held a press meet following the first-day, first-show of Funky, directed by Anudeep, addressing media questions about the mixed reception. Despite visible negative criticism online, Vamshi appeared confident and smiling throughout the interaction.
Responding to comments about the film’s structure, he said, “I have been saying for many weeks that we made a film with single-liners. In spite of that, netizens are commenting that it has no flow, that it looks like bits and pieces with patchy editing. When I myself said what it is much earlier, why do they write as if they made a discovery?” He added, “I didn’t say that I made a Sagara Sangamam.”
Vamshi also acknowledged the risks involved in collaborating with Anudeep, noting, “It’s always a risk making a film with Anudeep. Sometimes it may work and sometimes it may not.” He further clarified that the film was made on a limited budget, stating, “The film has no grammar of cinema. I knew that when I made it. I definitely didn’t presume that I made a film that would be liked by reviewers. Even regular viewers are commenting technically about patchy editing.”
While Vamshi’s candid remarks reflect transparency, many feel a softer, more measured tone might have resonated better with the broader Telugu audience beyond the film media. Observers suggest that, having previously delivered a successful comedy like Anaganaga Oka Raju, Vamshi could have approached this release in a way that balanced honesty with humility.

Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Credits ₹5,000 to Women Ahead of Elections

With the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections likely to be held in around two months, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has made a significant move that has captured public attention. Earlier today, he announced that his government is crediting ₹5,000 into the bank accounts of 1.31 crore women across the state.
This initiative is essentially an advance payment under a program that has been crediting ₹1,000 per month to women since the formation of the DMK government. Given the approaching election season, the government reportedly accelerated the payment to avoid any scrutiny from the Election Commission regarding cash transfers. The ₹5,000 includes advance payments for February, March, and April, along with an additional ₹2,000 as a summer bonus.
Supporters of the DMK see this move as a strategic masterstroke that could positively influence voter sentiment, boosting confidence ahead of the polls. Some political analysts also suggest that the program could sway public opinion in the party’s favour.
Opposition parties, however, have criticised the move, alleging that the lump-sum cash transfer is an attempt to buy votes and calling it unconstitutional, reflecting the political tension as Tamil Nadu gears up for what promises to be a closely contested election.
Donald Trump to Visit China in April for Meeting with Xi Jinping

US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that he will travel to China in April for a high-level meeting with President Xi Jinping, marking a new phase of diplomatic engagement between Washington and Beijing.
“I will be visiting President Xi Jinping in April. He will be coming to the US later in the year, and I look forward to it,” Trump said, highlighting the positive state of US-China relations. “Our relationship with China is very good right now,” he added.
The announcement comes amid growing global attention on US-China relations, which continue to reflect a complex mix of economic competition and strategic cooperation. While further details of the April visit have not yet been disclosed, the trip represents a significant diplomatic milestone.
Trump’s confirmation follows a recent 90-minute phone call with Xi on February 4, which the US President said focused solely on trade issues, without touching on other geopolitical concerns such as Iran or Ukraine. “During the conversation, President Xi graciously invited the First Lady and me to visit China, and I reciprocated. As Presidents of two Great Nations, this is something that we both look forward to doing,” Trump shared on Truth Social after the call.
OpenAI Launches GPT-5.3-Codex-Spark for Real-Time AI Coding

On February 12, OpenAI launched GPT-5.3-Codex-Spark, an ultra-fast artificial intelligence (AI) model designed for real-time software development, marking a major shift toward instant, interactive coding workflows as competition in the AI tools market heats up. The model, a smaller version of GPT-5.3-Codex, is being released as a research preview to ChatGPT Pro users and select partners. OpenAI said it is optimized for near-instant responses when deployed on specialized low-latency hardware, delivering more than 1,000 tokens per second. The launch also represents the first milestone in OpenAI’s partnership with chipmaker Cerebras, announced in January.
Unlike larger AI models built for extended autonomous tasks, Codex-Spark is tuned for rapid iteration, enabling engineers to edit code, refine logic, and respond immediately to user input. According to OpenAI, “Codex-Spark is our first model designed specifically for working with Codex in real-time—making targeted edits, reshaping logic, or refining interfaces and seeing results immediately.” The system supports both quick interactions and more complex projects, allowing engineers to intervene, redirect, or interrupt output as it is generated. By default, the model keeps its working style lightweight, performing minimal edits and skipping automated tests unless requested.
Codex-Spark features a 128,000-token context window and is currently text-only. While smaller than frontier models, it performs strongly on software engineering benchmarks such as SWE-Bench Pro and Terminal-Bench 2.0, completing tasks in a fraction of the time. This release reflects a broader trend toward specialized AI models that prioritize responsiveness over maximum reasoning depth, particularly for developer tools where low latency directly impacts productivity. OpenAI has also redesigned its infrastructure to reduce delays across the entire request pipeline, including persistent WebSocket connections and optimizations to its Responses API, which cut overhead per client-server roundtrip by 80% and halved the time-to-first-token.
Codex-Spark runs on Cerebras’ Wafer Scale Engine 3, a purpose-built AI accelerator optimized for high-speed inference. This hardware complements traditional GPU infrastructure by focusing on ultra-low latency. “What excites us most about GPT-5.3-Codex-Spark is partnering with OpenAI and the developer community to discover what fast inference makes possible—new interaction patterns, new use cases, and a fundamentally different model experience,” said Sean Lie, co-founder and CTO of Cerebras. OpenAI emphasized that while GPUs remain central to training and broad deployment, specialized chips can accelerate workflows where response time is critical, offering a glimpse of a new era in interactive AI-driven coding.
Spotify Engineers Rely on AI, Stop Writing Code

Spotify’s most experienced software engineers haven’t written a single line of code in months, as artificial intelligence (AI) fundamentally reshapes how the streaming giant develops its products.
Speaking during the company’s fourth-quarter earnings call, co-CEO Gustav Söderström revealed that AI is now deeply integrated into Spotify’s engineering workflow, generating and deploying software with minimal human coding. “Our most experienced developers have not written a single line of code since December,” he said.
Rather than manually programming, engineers now supervise an internal AI system called “Honk,” which combines generative AI—including Anthropic Claude Code—with real-time development tools. This setup allows engineers to direct, review, and refine AI-generated code instead of producing it themselves. For instance, an engineer can use Slack on their morning commute to instruct Claude to fix a bug or add a new feature to the iOS app.
Spotify says this AI-driven approach has accelerated development and deployment. In 2025 alone, the company shipped over 50 app features and updates, including AI-powered tools like Prompted Playlists, Page Match for syncing physical books with audiobooks, and “About This Song,” which offers contextual storytelling.
Söderström emphasized that Spotify’s vast user data is a key competitive advantage, enabling the company to train and refine AI models at a scale unmatched by competitors. “This is a dataset that no one else is really building. It improves every time we retrain our models,” he said.
While the changes are significant, Söderström described them as an early stage of a broader transformation, signaling deeper AI integration across Spotify’s software engineering in the future.

Bimbisara 2: Kalyan Ram’s Sequel on Hold?

Tollywood is abuzz with speculation about the fate of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s blockbuster Bimbisara sequel. The first film, directed by Vassistha, was a massive hit and marked a major comeback for Kalyan Ram. Naturally, fans were excited when Bimbisara 2 was announced.
But over three and a half years later, there’s still no word on pre-production, casting, or even an official update from the team. This prolonged silence has sparked rumors that the sequel might be on hold—or worse, just a hype announcement.
Adding to the uncertainty, Kalyan Ram, after facing setbacks with films like Devil and Arjun S/O Jayanthi, is reportedly planning a new collaboration with director Srikanth, who worked as a writer on Pushpa. If this new project kicks off soon, Bimbisara 2 could be delayed even further.
For now, fans are left wondering whether the sequel will ever take off or if the makers are waiting for the perfect time. It seems Kalyan Ram may need another strong hit before taking on a big-budget follow-up.
Couple Friendly: A Crucial Test for UV Creations

UV Creations, one of the prominent production houses in Telugu cinema, is looking at 2026 as a crucial year for revival. The banner, which once delivered successful films like Mirchi, Run Raja Run, and Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, has been going through a challenging phase in recent years.
Their big-ticket ventures such as Radhe Shyam, Adipurush, and Ghaati failed to meet expectations at the box office, putting considerable financial pressure on the banner. With consecutive setbacks, the need for a solid success has become more urgent than ever.
Now, the spotlight shifts to Couple Friendly, a relatively small, content-driven film starring Santosh Shoban in the lead role. Unlike their recent large-scale productions, this film is positioned as a youthful entertainer packed with relatable moments. While it may not generate massive revenues, even a moderate success could restore some confidence and positive momentum for the production house.
However, the bigger test lies ahead. Sharwanand’s Biker is gearing up for an April release, while Chiranjeevi’s much-awaited Vishwambhara is expected to hit screens during the summer or post-summer season. Both projects are mounted on substantial budgets and need strong box office performance to stabilize the banner’s financial standing.
At the same time, Couple Friendly is equally crucial for Santosh Shoban, whose recent films failed to perform well commercially. For him, this project represents an important opportunity to bounce back and re-establish his position.
As February 14 approaches, the big question remains: Will Couple Friendly deliver the much-needed positive start for UV Creations? For the banner and its lead actor alike, this film appears to be a decisive turning point.
