Israel bans UN chief Guterres from entering country

Tel Aviv, Oct 2 (IANS) Israel on Wednesday declared UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres persona non grata and banned him from entering the country for his failure to “unequivocally condemn” Iran’s missile attack.

“Today, I have declared UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres persona non grata in Israel and banned him from entering the country. Anyone who cannot unequivocally condemn Iran’s heinous attack on Israel, as almost every country in the world has done, does not deserve to step foot on Israeli soil,” announced Israeli Foreign Affairs Minister Israel Katz, late Wednesday afternoon.

With the first anniversary of the 2023 Hamas attack on Israel just a few days away, Katz slammed the United Nations chief for failing to act against the terror organisations.

“This is a Secretary-General who has yet to denounce the massacre and sexual atrocities committed by Hamas murderers on October 7, nor has he led any efforts to declare them a terrorist organisation. A Secretary-General who gives backing to terrorists, rapists, and murderers from Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and now Iran—the mothership of global terror—will be remembered as a stain on the history of the UN,” the Israeli Foreign Minister wrote on X.

He added that Israel will continue to defend its citizens and “uphold its national dignity, with or without Antonio Guterres”.

The UN Secretary General had on Tuesday said that he is “extremely concerned” with the escalation of the conflict in Lebanon and appealed for an immediate ceasefire.

Guterres said that an all-out war must be avoided in Lebanon “at all costs”, and the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon must be respected.

He posted another message on X a few hours later when Iran attacked Israel with nearly 200 missiles on Tuesday night.

“I condemn the broadening of the Middle East conflict, with escalation after escalation. This must stop. We absolutely need a ceasefire,” said Guterres.

Mumbai, Oct 2 (IANS) Bollywood power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan on the 10th year of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan asked to unite for a “cleaner and greener India”.They also heaped praise on the iconic leader PM Narendra Modi and said that he has shown committed and strong leadership by working tirelessly in turning this mission into a nationwide movement.

Kareena took to her Instagram, where she shared a video featuring her and her husband Saif. The video began with the two introducing themselves.Kareena was then heard saying: “Today, I would like to talk to you not only as an actress, but as a mother,who wants the best for her children and Swachh Bharat Mission is a mission in which every family should take part.”

Saif added: “It’s not just about keeping our surroundings clean, it’s about showing our kids that a healthy environment is a foundation for a happy life.”The “Jab We Met” actress added that “Mahatma Gandhi has always said that we are the ones who start the real change. On October 2nd, we honour his dream of a clean India.”

Praising PM Modi, he added: “Our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji has shown committed and strong leadership by working tirelessly in turning this mission into a nationwide movement. And we want to ensure that our children understand that every small step, whether it’s picking up a piece or not using plastic, is very important.”

Kareena urged all to make the mission a part of everyone’s lives.

Triptii Dimri Controversy: Actress’ team issues official statement

Mumbai, Oct 2 (IANS) Bollywood actress Triptii Dimri found herself embroiled in controversy after she skipped an event in Jaipur. However, a statement issued on behalf of the actress suggested that she did not participate or commit to participate in any personal appearances and that no additional payments were accepted.

It was reported that the actress was being called out by Women Entrepreneurs at FICCI FLO event, who have now asked for a boycott of her and her upcoming film “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video”, which also stars Rajkummar Rao.Adding to that, Triptii’s poster at the event was defaced and the poster of the film was also taken down.

An official statement issued by Triptii’s team on behalf of the actress has been issued and it read: “During the ongoing promotional campaign for her film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Triptii Dimri fully honoured her professional obligations, attending all scheduled events and sessions related to the film.”

The statement further stated: “Notably, she did not participate or commit to participate in any personal appearances or events beyond her promotional duties. It’s important to clarify that no additional fees or payments were accepted for her involvement in these activities. – Spokesperson to Ms Triptii Dimri.”

According to media reports, the 30-year-old star was supposed to attend an event by FICCI FLO at Jaipur on Nari Shakti, however, she did not make it to the event. It was also reported that the actress had a deal for the event for ₹5.5 lakh.Talking about Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which is slated to release on October 11, also stars Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat, Archana Puran Singh and Rakesh Bedi to name a few.

Mumbai, Oct 2 (IANS) Actress Pooja Hegde, who has worked with Vijay in the 2022 film ‘Beast’, will once again be seen sharing screen space with the superstar in the upcoming tentatively titled film ‘Thalapathy 69’.The banner KVN Productions took to X, formerly called Twitter, to make the announcement on Wednesday.

Along with a picture of Pooja, the post read: “Bringing the stunning duo back to the big screen once again We know you’ve already cracked it, but officially… Welcome onboard @hegdepooja #Thalapathy69CastReveal #Thalapathy @actorvijay sir #HVinoth @thedeol @anirudhofficial @Jagadishbliss @LohithNK01 #Thalapathy69.”

The film is directed by H. Vinoth, who made his directorial debut with “Sathuranga Vettai” in 2014. He then went on to make films such as ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’, ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’, ‘Valimai’ and ‘Thunivu’.Talking about Pooja, she is currently busy with Suriya’s tentatively titled film ‘Suriya 44’ helmed by ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’ fame director Karthik Subbaraj.

As for now, the filmmaker has kept all the information under wraps and fans are expecting a big update before Suriya’s other big release titled ‘Kanguva’ helmed by director Siruthai Siva, which is all set for a grand release on November 14, 2024, on a huge pan-Indian level.Apart from ‘Suriya 44’, she recently wrapped up ‘Deva’ in which she stars alongside Shahid Kapoor and Pavail Gulati. Both Shahid and Pavail will be seen essaying the roles of cops in the movie.

The film is directed by acclaimed Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur. ‘Deva’ is set to be released on February 14, 2025.Pooja will also feature in an action-thriller titled ‘Sanki’ opposite ‘Tadap’ fame actor Ahan Shetty, helmed by director duo Yasir Jah and Adnan A. Shaikh.

Pooja made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with the period action film ‘Mohenjo Daro’, which is written and directed by Ashutosh Gowariker. The film starred Hrithik Roshan in the lead and is based on the ancient Indus Valley civilisation.She appeared in Hindi movies like ‘Housefull 4’, ‘Radhe Shyam’, ‘Cirkus’, and most recently in the Salman Khan starrer- ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’.

Mumbai, Oct 2 (IANS) Actor Naveen Kasturia, who will be seen essaying the role of an author in the upcoming second season of the streaming show ‘Mithya’, has shared that he came to Mumbai with the intention of becoming a writer.The second season of the psychological drama promises even more twists, suspense, and intense thrills.

Talking about his character in season 2 of the show, Naveen said, “I’m thrilled to be a part of Mithya Season 2, where I play an aspiring author. It’s a role that resonates with my own journey in many ways”.He further mentioned, “When I first came to Mumbai, I thought writing would be my entry into the film industry. I believe that my passion for reading and storytelling helps me enrich my performance, allowing me to connect deeply with the character”.

‘Mithya Season 2’ is set to drop on ZEE5.

Naveen Kasturia, is known for his work in the OTT space, and is considered one of the bankable actors in the medium of OTT. He is known for ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows’, ‘TVF Pitchers’ and ‘Aspirants’. Three of his web shows are in the IMDb Top 250 TV shows list. He started his career working as an assistant director on the film Jashnn and then assisted Dibakar Banerjee on the critically acclaimed experimental film ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’, and ‘Shanghai’.

In 2011, filmmaker Amit Masurkar of ‘Newton’ fame offered a movie to him, titled ‘Sulemani Keeda’. Released in 2014, the movie proved to be a turning point in his career. Mumbai, Oct 2 (IANS) Veteran actress Saira Banu shared a slew of images from her engagement day with late iconic star Dilip Kumar and said that she never doubted or questioned him as she “simply loved” him.On Wednesday, the actress took to Instagram, where she shared a gamut of pictures featuring the two stars from their engagement days.

Saira wrote: “MOHABBAT MEIN SAWAAL NAHIN KIYE JAATE, a line uttered by me in the movie ‘HERA PHERI’, and now I wonder, what value does it hold. The purest form of love lies in having faith in your beloved, to the point where the need for questioning simply fades away.”

She revealed she never doubted or questioned Dilip Kumar.

“Ever since I began my journey with my one true love, my sweetheart, Dilip Sahib, on this unforgettable day the 2nd of October 1966, I have never questioned anything. Whether it was the highs or the lows, or even the still moments in between, I never once doubted or questioned him.”

2. At the time of Devara’s demise, Vara is still a teenager and after the demise of Devara, there were murders on the Red Sea. Who did them? Is it Vara? If not, who is it?

3. Whose Skeletons are under the sea?

4. There seems to be some mystery behind the death of Devara.

All the above elements are the key aspects for the second half and the makers could have built some more anticipation around the film. Directed by Koratala Siva, NTR and Janhvi Kapoor played the lead roles in the film.
